     Kathryn Slade was born on October 2, 1954 in Portland, Multnomah County, Oregon.1 She was the daughter of Fred M. Slade and Margaret Ann Rogers.1 Kathryn died on February 2, 2016 at age 61.1 She was buried in River View Cemetery, Portland, Multnomah County, Oregon.1 Her obituary read as follows:

      Slade, Kathryn 61 Oct. 02, 1954 Feb. 02, 2016 Kathryn Slade, beloved sister to Mike, Rick and Debby Slade, passed away Feb. 2, 2016. Born in 1954 in Portland, Katy was a kind, funny, quiet, brilliant person who touched many people with her dry wit and sweet nature. She grew up in Portland and attended Riverdale School, Catlin Gabel School for high school, St. John's College in Santa Fe, N.M., and the University of Oregon, where she majored in journalism and wrote for the school paper. Katy was preceded in death by both her parents, Fred and Margaret Slade. Her gravestone will sit next to her parents in River View Cemetery.
