     John P. Slade was born circa 1775 in Virginia.2
     John married Temperance Pond, daughter of John P. Pond and Selah [?], on July 16, 1810.1 He served in the 65th Regiment from August to October 1814, led by Captain Blow and recruited in Southampton.
     On March 13, 1818, John P. Slade and his wife Tempe sold her portion of Southampton land to her brother Richard Pond. This is the tract mentioned in her father's will that was lent to her mother as long as she lived and then went to Tempe and her sisters.34

     Jesse Slade was born in 1781 in Virginia.1 His 1800 Surry Marriage Bond states that Jesse is son of Selia & William Slade, Sr., but we have found no other evidence.2,3
     Jesse married Mary James on December 25, 1800 in Surry County, Virginia.2
     Jesse married Rebecca [?].4 Jesse died on August 30, 1854 in Virginia.5

Note: It is only assumed that Jesse is father of Wyatt, because of his age and living with him in 1850.1

     James Gideon Slade was born on February 20, 1875 in Randolph County, Arkansas.2,1 [1900 AR census records indicate his father was born in Tennessee and his mother born in Arkansas] Other unsourced material indicates his parents were James Slade & Sarah Blackburn. This is taken as only a clue until further evidence is found.
     James married Rachael Lavinia Crumley, daughter of John H. Crumley and Missouri Josephine Sanders, on September 12, 1894 in Independence County, Arkansas.2,3 James Gideon Slade was registered for the military draft in World War I on September 12, 1918 in Arkansas.1 James died on August 13, 1962 at age 87. He was buried in Wren Farm Cemetery, Cushman, Independence County, Arkansas.4

     Frank Slade was known as Frank Schieferstein.2 He was born in December, 1863 in New York Both of his parents were born in Germany.1 He was the son of Andrew Schieferstein.3
     Frank married Minnie Bommer, daughter of Adam Bommer, in 1887.2 Frank Slade was a dealer in coal and feed in 1921.1 Frank died in 1942.4 He was buried in Saint John's Lutheran Church Cemetery, Elma, Erie County, New York.4

     John Pickett Slade was born circa 1786 in New Hampshire according to 1850 Erie Co, PA census. [find-a-grave shows his birthplace as Rhode Island, but has no source]1 He was New Tag on March 3, 1786 in Smithfield, Providence County, Rhode Island.3 Unsourced info indicates his parents might be Phebe Pickett & John Slade. No further has been found, so we use this info only as a clue until credible evidence is found.
     John married Esther Ann Trask, daughter of Ebenezer Trask and Huldah Read, in September, 1809 in Oneida County, New York.1 John Pickett Slade served in Capt. Caleb Herington's company in Lt. Colonel Peter Allen's Regiment of New York State Militia, from July 10, 1812 to January 30, 1814.4 In 1850, John Slade's family is living next to his son, Orin, in Erie County, Pennsylvania.1 John P. Slade drew $8 per month US pension begining April 3, 1856 for his service as a Private in the 20th New York Militia in War of 1812.5,6 John died on August 24, 1859 in Calhoun County, Michigan,7 and was buried in Montrose Cemetery, Genesee County, Michigan.8,7

His death certificate spells it Houston.4 Arthur Huston Slade was registered for the military draft in World War I on June 5, 1918 in Batesville, Independence County, Arkansas.4
     Arthur married Ruth Elizabeth Brown, daughter of Belle [?], on March 31, 1928 in Fulton County, Arkansas.5,6
     Arthur Huston Slade registered for the draft for World War II in 1942, while living at Viola, Fulton County, Arkansas.3 Arthur died on February 26, 1954 in Memphis, Shelby County, Tennessee, at age 57.7 He was buried in Mount Calm Cemetery, Viola, Fulton County, Arkansas.8

     Richard Franklin Slade was born on February 16, 1913 in Arkansas.1,3 He was the son of James Gideon Slade and Rachael Lavinia Crumley.1
     Richard married Medrith Stroud on August 17, 1938 in Sharp County, Arkansas,2,4, the daughter of Laura Magdalene Hightower & Espy Madison Stroud.5 Richard died on January 11, 1998 in Sidney, Sharp County, Arkansas, at age 842 and was buried in Big Spring Cemetery, Mount Pleasant, Izzard County, Arkansas.2 His obituary read as follows:

      Richard Franklin Slade, 84, of Sidney died Sunday, Jan. 11, 1998, in a Sidney nursing home. He was the son of James G. and Rachel Crumley Slade. He was a farmer and a member and deacon at Concord Baptist Church.
     Survivors include his wife, Medrith Stroud Slade; a son, Royce Slade of Sidney; a daughter, Lois Rasmussen of Sidney; a sister, Myrle Moser of Batesville; four grandchildren, Brad Slade of Sidney, Diane Drinkard of Modesto, Calif., Sheryl Thompson of Batesville and Dana Porte of St. Petersburg, Fla; and four great-grandchildren.
     He was preceded in death by his parents; and five brothers, Arthur Slade, Elmer Slade, Fred Slade, Harry Slade and Oscar Slade. The funeral will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Crouch Funeral Home of Melbourne with the Rev. Alvin Wiles officiating. Burial will be in Big Springs Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ray Ford, Paul Slade, Denny Slade, Brad Slade, Curt Thompson and Roy Mynatt.6

Pulliam, on September 20, 1837 in Henrico County, Virginia.4 The notice of their wedding, published in the Richmond Whig newspaper on Tuesday, Sep 26, 1837, stated: Married- On Thursday last by the Rev. Philip Courtney, B. Slade to Miss Sally W. Murphy, daughter of Capt. Wm Murphy, all of Richmond.4 Sally died on November 3, 1861 in Richmond, Henrico County, Virginia.2 She was buried in Shockoe Hill Cemetery, Richmond, Virginia.5 Her obituary read as follows:

      On yesterday morning, 3d instant, Sally W Slade, consort of the late Bartholomew Slade, in the 43d year of her age. Her funeral will take place this morning at 11 o'clock from Centenary Church. The friends and acquaintances of the family are invited to attend without.2
