     Fannie Mae Griffin was New Tag on December 24, 1892 in Louisiana.2 She was born on December 24, 1900 in Louisiana.3 She was the daughter of James Monroe Griffin and Mattie A. Torrence.4,5
     Fannie married Sam Jerry Slade, son of James Jethro Slade and Lucy Ann Montgomery, in 1920.3 Fannie died on July 19, 1982 in Strong, Union County, Arkansas, at age 81.2 She was buried in Conway Cemetery, Conway, Union Parish, Louisiana.6 Her obituary in the El Dorado News-Times, Tuesday, July 20, 1982 read:
      Mrs. Fanny M. Slade, age 91, of Strong, died Monday in an El Dorado hospital after a short illness. Survivors include one son. Grady Ducke of West Monroe, La; one daughter, Mrs. Dick Dugal of Strong; two brothers, George Griffin of El Dorado and Clarence Griffin of Oak Grove, La; five grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be announced by Farrar Funeral Home of Farmerville, La.

Julia Ellen Slade

     Julia Ellen Slade was born on November 16, 1923 in Union Parish, Louisiana. She was the daughter of Sam Jerry Slade and Fannie Mae Griffin. Julia Ellen Slade was also reported as born in 1925 in Louisiana.1
     Julia married George Porter Dugal, son of George W Dugal.2 Julia died on September 30, 2017 at age 933 and was buried in Cane Creek Cemetery, Union County, Arkansas.3 Her obituary read as follows:

      Julia Ellen Dugal, 93, passed away on September 30, 2017 at her home surrounded by her family. Julia was born November 16, 1923 to the late S. J. Slade and Fannie Mae Griffin Slade. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
     Preceding her in death are her parents; her husband, Dick Dugal; three granddaughters, Amy Colleen Dugal, Nikole Dugal and Brandy Tubervillle; two great great grandchildren, Jaxon Allen and Rosalyn Kate Agerton; son in law, Pip Pippen.
     Survivors include her children, Barbara June Pippen, Bobby Dugal (Vickey), Jerry Dugal (Deri) and Cherry Agerton (Gary). Nine grandchildren, eighteen great- grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 5 - 7pm on Sunday, October 1, 2017 at the First Baptist Church of Strong. Services will be held on Monday, October 2, 2017 at 10am also at First Baptist Church of Strong with Bro. Colby Agerton and Bro. Scotty Guillot officiating. Interment at Cane Creek Cemetery under direction of Perry's Funeral Chapels.

Whitman Bunion Parker1

(27 April 1880 - 11 February 1969)
     Whitman Bunion Parker was born on April 27, 1880 in Arkansas.2,1 He was the son of Levi Parker and Emma D. [?]3 Whit's father, Levi, was born Tennessee although the 1880 census of Union Co, Arkansas mistakenly records Levi as born in Missouri. The 1870 census finds Levi living in Maries Co, Missouri, but even that indicates his birthplace was Tennessee. Whit's mother was born in Arkansas.3 Levi and Emma apparently died prior to 1900 as their nine children were all living together without the parents in the 1900 census. Joseph, 20, was listed as head of household.4
     Whitman married Ethel Gertrude Slade, daughter of William Little Slade and Florence Mary Burke, in 1913.5 Whitman died on February 11, 1969 at age 882 and was buried in Woodlawn Cemetery, El Dorado, Union County, Arkansas.6 His Social Security Number was (an unknown value.)2
