      Marion Alexander Kern, of Hobe Sound, FL and Linville, NC, passed away on May 21, 2015. She was born in Rose Hill, NY to George and Alice Slade.

Marion was a strong woman; strong in faith, family, and love. She loved antiques and art, which was the motivation for opening her store, The Drummer Boy Antiques and Gifts in Tequesta. She also enjoyed playing bridge, doing needlepoint, painting, both oils and china, singing in the church choir, and entertaining. Marion was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Tequesta and attended Crossnore Presbyterian Church in North Carolina. Marion was predeceased by her husbands, John M. Kern, Jr. and John C. Alexander, as well as her son-in-law, Donald R. Hires and daughter-in-law, Grace Alexander. She will be dearly missed by her children, Ronald J. Alexander, Cheryl Alexander Hires, and Dr. John C. Alexander, Jr., her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as her caregivers. A memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church, Tequesta, on Saturday, May 30, 2015, at 2:00PM.      Stanley married Gladys M. [?]⁴ Stanley died on August 30, 1964² and was buried in Amber Cemetery, Amber, Onondaga County, New York.²

     Ena Byril Slade was born on July 19, 1907 in England.^1,2 She was the daughter of George Slade and Alice [?].¹ Ena Byril Slade immigrated with George Slade from Liverpool, England to Port of New York, New York, on January 12, 1911 intended destination, Marietta, Ohio.³
     Ena married Mr. [?] Tapping.² Ena died in April, 1996 at age 88² and was buried in Amber Cemetery, Amber, Onondaga County, New York.²

     Edward married Amelia Porter, daughter of John Porter, on June 18, 1862 in St Phillip & St. Jacob, Bristol, Gloucester, England.⁴ Edward died in 1904 in Axbridge, Somerset, England.⁵

     Amelia married Edward Slade, son of Richard Slade and Jane Edwards, on June 18, 1862 in St Phillip & St. Jacob, Bristol, Gloucester, England.¹

     Francis Slade was born on November 6, 1879 in Lympsham, Somerset, England.^2,3,1 He was the son of Edward Slade and Amelia Porter.¹
     Francis married Florence Ethel Davison.⁴ Francis Slade was found on a passenger list SS Oceanic sailing from Southampton on June 25, 1913 and arriving June 27 in Port of New York, New York.⁵ He was registered for the military draft in World War I on September 12, 1918 in Baltimore City, Maryland.² He was naturalized on December 27, 1919 in Baltimore City, Maryland.⁶ He lived in 1970 in St. Petersburg, Pinellas County, Florida.⁷ Francis died on August 21, 1970 in Wilmette, Illinois, at age 90.^8,7 He was buried in St. Petersburg, Florida.⁷
