Larry E. Slade, 81, died after a long illness, on March 29, 2018. Larry was born Jan. 11, 1937, the son of Harry Slade and Elizabeth (Sanford) Curit.
He graduated from Westbrook High School and on Jan. 6, 1962, he married Joanne Connor.
Larry worked as a salesman for Sid Harvey Industries for 25 years. He was a member of the Portland Elk's Club BPOE where he held various offices, as well as a member of the National Oil Burner's Association and Maine Oil Burner's Association. Larry was a sports enthusiast who fondly cheered on his beloved Red Sox baseball team.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Joanne Slade; a brother, Wayne Slade, and his wife, Arlene, of Huntsville, Ala; several nieces and nephews; dear lifetime friends, Bob and Rose Sirois, Andy and Marie Sterns, Betty Young; and the Brassard family in Colchester, Vt; thank you all for your support. A special thank you to nephew, Leroy White, for his love and support of Larry.
A period of visitation will be held Wednesday, April 4, 2018, from 4-6 p.m. at the Westbrook Chapel of Dolby Blais & Segee, 35 Church St., Westbrook, ME 04092.
