     Edward Slade was born on June 14, 1694 in Bristol County, Massachusetts.1 He was the son of William Slade and Sarah Holmes.
     Edward married first Elizabeth Anthony, daughter of William Anthony and Mary Coggeshall, on December 19, 1717.1 Edward's wife Elizabeth died Feb 6, 1720.
     Edward married second Phebe Chase, daughter of Samuel Chase, on December 6, 1720 in Massachusetts.1 Phoebe died July 5, 1735.
     Edward married third Deborah Buffum, daughter of Jonathan Buffum, on September 7, 1736 in Salem, Essex County, Massachusetts.2 Edward died on April 5, 1755 at age 60. He was buried in Jonathan Slade Cemetery, Somerset, Bristol County, Massachusetts.3

     Jonathan Slade was born on August 3, 1703 in Swansea, Bristol County, Massachusetts.1,2 He was the son of William Slade and Sarah Holmes.
     Jonathan married Sibel Tisdale on December 23, 1725 in Swansea, Massachusetts. She was the daughter of James and Abigail Coleman Tisdale. They had no children and upon their death, left legacies to neices and nephews.1 Jonathan died on November 2, 1764 at age 61.1 He was buried in Jonathan Slade Cemetery, Somerset, Bristol County, Massachusetts.1

     Peleg married Mary Mason Chase on September 5, 1765.3 Peleg died on December 28, 1813 in Massachusetts at age 84.4 He was buried in Col. Peleg Slade Cemetery, Swansea, Bristol County, Massachusetts.2 He 48 WILLIAM SEWARD FRANKLIN 3448 San Francisco, Born in the City and County of San Francisco, Cal., May 20, 1861. Son of Roderick Penn Franklin and Mary Mason (Slade). Grandson of Lloyd Slade and Eliza (Lewin), Great-grandson of PELEG SLADE and Mary (Chace), PELEG SLADE was born in Swansea, Mass., in 1729, and died there in 1813. He was appointed Major in February, 1776. He was stationed at Howland and at Fog Island Ferries, at Warwick, Bristol, and Hog Neck, up and down the shores of Providence and Taunton Rivers, during the years 1776 and 1779.      Samuel Slade was born on September 26, 1721 in Bristol County, Massachusetts. He was the son of Edward Slade and Phebe Chase.1
     Samuel married Mercy Buffum, daughter of Jonathan Buffum and Mercy [?], on September 13, 1743 in Salem, Essex County, Massachusetts.2 Samuel inherited the Slade ferry from his uncle Jonathan, who died without issue.3 Samuel died on July 25, 1765 in Massachusetts at age 43.3
