     Betsey married Peleg Slade Jr., son of Peleg Slade and Mary Mason Chase.² Betsey died on November 1, 1882 at age 101⁴ and was buried in Kelloggsville Cemetery, Sempronious, Cayuga County, New York.⁴

     Lloyd Slade was born on July 25, 1803 in Milton, Saratoga County, New York.^1,2,3 He was the son of Peleg Slade Jr. and Betsey Bassett.
     Lloyd married Esther Millard. Lloyd died on May 3, 1882 at age 78³ and was buried in Kelloggsville Cemetery, Sempronious, Cayuga County, New York.³

     John married Rose D. [?] John Millard Slade was a carpenter and farmer in 1880.³ John died on March 8, 1894 at age 55 and was buried in Kelloggsville Cemetery, Sempronious, Cayuga County, New York.⁴

     Lawrence Clinton Slade was born on November 8, 1927 in Cortland, Cortland County, New York.¹ He was the son of Harold M Slade and Lena M. Burgess.
     Lawrence married Julie M. VanCise, daughter of Leland E. VanCise and Grace Putnam.² Lawrence died on December 5, 1993 in Palmyra, Lebanon County, Pennsylvania, at age 66.^3,2 He was buried in Glenwood Cemetery, Homer, Cortland County, New York.² His obituary read as follows:

Lawrence C. Slade, 66, of 635 Pajabon Drive, Palmyra, Pa., formerly of Cortland, died Sunday at his home.

Born in Cortland, Mr. Slade had lived in Pennsylvania for many years.

He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Palmyra, where he served on the church Consistory and as chairman of the Property and Maintenance Committee.

Mr. Slade was a former member of the Homer Fire Department. He was employed by Sears, Roebuck & Co. in Cortland before moving to the management level at branches of the store in Harrisburg, Lancaster and Lebanon, Pa., retiring in 1987 after 34 years of service.

Surviving are his wife, Julie M. VanCise Slade; five sons, Ronald C. of Ramona, Calif., Michael L. of Hummelstown, Pa., David Lee of La Mesa, Calif., William D., at home, and Scott L. of Annville, Pa; a brother, Floyd C. of Homer; two sisters, Evelyn Doran of McGraw and Marie Hilsinger of Manassas, Va; and nine grandchildren.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Donald L. Barber Funeral Home Inc. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Homer.

Calling hours will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, 5016 N. Main St.

Contributions may be made to the Good Samaritan Hospital Hospice, Fourth and Walnut streets, Lebanon, Pa., 17042.²

     William Clark Slade was born on March 11, 1890 in Bradford County, Pennsylvania.¹ He was the son of Phillip Amos Slade and Tressie Angeline Griffin.
     William married Dora Aumick, daughter of Merritt Aumick and Fanny A. Dunbar, on April 13, 1915 in Pennsylvania.² William Clark Slade was registered for the military draft in World War I on June 5, 1917 in Troy, Bradford County, Pennsylvania.¹ William died circa 1935.³

     William Aumick Slade Sr was born on March 26, 1920 in Troy, Rensselaer County, New York.¹ He was the son of William Clark Slade and Dora Aumick. At only 15 years old both his parents were killed in a car wreck. He and his younger brother Jack were then raised by Jennie and Ralph Smith in Ithaca, NY.²      Bill graduated from Cornell University. He entered the Army Air Corps and was pilot in the ferry service. He learned to fly in the early 40's as one of the few Americans that trained with the British RAF in Florida. He loved to fly and the ferry service allowed him to fly every type of propeller plane used in WWII, ferrying planes all over Europe and Africa.²
     William married Lorraine June Amundson.
     William married second Terry Kamke.² William Aumick Slade Sr resided in Orlando, Orange County, Florida, in 2006.¹ William died on May 25, 2013 in Orlando, Florida, at age 93.² His obituary read as follows:

      William Aumick Slade passed away on Memorial weekend May 25, 2013 at age 93. Bill was born on March 26, 1920 to William Clark Slade and Dora Aumick Slade in Troy, PA. At only 15 years old both his parents were killed in a car wreck. He and his younger brother Jack were then raised by Jennie and Ralph Smith in Ithaca, NY. At the time, young Bill was quoted in the newspaper as saying, "We all have to die sometime". This quiet, confident approach to life defined how he led his life as a man, husband, father and grandfather. Bill graduated from Cornell University. He entered the Army Air Corps and was pilot in the ferry service. He learned to fly in the early 40's as one of the few Americans that trained with the British RAF in Florida. He loved to fly and the ferry service allowed him to fly every type of propeller plane used in WWII, ferrying planes all over Europe and Africa. At 22 years of age, this grizzled veteran taught the 18 year old kids to fly from Casablanca to Cairo using rivers and trees as landmarks. His flying prowess earned him an invitation to join the elite pilots flying the president in Air Force One. In the 1950's, Bill married his first wife, Lorraine June Amundson and the couple had two sons. Decades later Bill met his second wife Terry Kamke and they enjoyed a wonderful life together until his death. They were married by the ship's Captain on a birthday cruise to Panama more than 20 years ago. Bill's passion in life was reading. He also loved orchids, golf, poker and bridge. He was an orchid judge and past president of the Central Florida Orchid Society. Years ago he bred pollens to create a new species of orchid. He was a master bridge player. He loved participating in tournaments and once played bridge against the famous Charles Goren. Bill and Terry won a bridge tournament just a few days before his passing. Until the night he died, he enjoyed his daily calls with his sons about their lives, their work, their travels, their hobbies and their children. He was mentally sharp even as his body failed. Bill is survived by ¿two sons, Jon Jeffrey (Bonnie), William Aumick Jr., four grandchildren, Stephanie (Chris Joneson), Nicholas, Jennifer and Sally, and a great granddaughter, Lily. He also leaves his second wife and loving companion, Terry Kamke. Services for William Slade are for family only.²

     Dora Aumick was born in 1897 in Pennsylvania.¹ She was the daughter of Merritt Aumick and Fanny A. Dunbar.
     Dora married William Clark Slade, son of Phillip Amos Slade and Tressie Angeline Griffin, on April 13, 1915 in Bradford County, Pennsylvania.² Dora died circa 1935.³

     John "Jack" Edward Slade was born on October 28, 1922 in Troy, Bradford County, Pennsylvania.^2,1 He was the son of William Clark Slade and Dora Aumick.

     John married second Mary Esther Shackelton.¹ John died on March 26, 2004 in Longwood, Florida, at age 81.¹ His obituary read as follows:

Mr. Slade was born October 28, 1922 in Troy, PA, the son of the late William Clark and Dora Aumick Slade.In 1935, as a result of an automobile accident that took the life of his parents, John and his brother came to Ithaca, NY, to live with Ralph and Jennie "Jackie" Frost Smith.John graduated from Ithaca High School, served overseas in WWII, graduated from Cornell University, and became employed in Mayer's Smoke Shop (where he had worked from age 12). After Ralph Smith died, John purchased Mayer's and operated it until retiring in 1979. For many years, he and his wife, Mary, lived at Maplewood Point on the west shore of Cayuga Lake and John discovered boating, fishing and golf. He and Mary loved to entertain family and friends either for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Over the years, they took in numerous dogs and cats that needed homes and this continued up to the time of John's death.In 1980, they moved to Florida so that John could pursue his passion of playing golf nearby every day and they eventually purchased a home near the 18th hole of Rolling Hills Country Club. Mary's passion was for birds and they had as many as 60 at one time. John was an avid stamp collector for many years, held a 32nd Masonic Degree being very active in the Ithaca Lodge and continued to be active in Florida, was a former treasurer of Ithaca City Club.Surviving are his children, William R. Slade of Binghamton, NY, Michael R. (Maria) Slade of Lansing, NY, Kathleen A. Smith of Ithaca; and stepdaughter, Lynn Hoskins (Rev. Barry) Brown of Stratford, CT; also his grandchildren, Sonia Slade of Boston, MA, and Meagan Smith of Ithaca; step grandchildren, Rev. Kenneth Ross (Amy) Brown of Walnut Creek, CA, and Jason Todd (Tara) Brown of Wallingford, CT. He had six step great-grandchildren. John is survived by a brother, William A. Slade of Altamont Springs, FL; and a brother-in-la, Horace E. (Shirley) Shackelton of Dryden, NY. John was predeceased by his wife and mother of his children, Mary Therese Colbert Slade; his wife, Mary E. Shackelton Slade of 45 years.At Mr. Slade's request, there were no services.¹

     Phillip Frank Slade was born in December, 1892 in Bradford County, Pennsylvania.² He was the son of Phillip Amos Slade and Tressie Angeline Griffin. Phillip died in 1982¹ and was buried in Park Cemetery, Canton, Bradford County, Pennsylvania.¹

     Lorraine June Amundson was born on June 22, 1920.²
     Lorraine married William Aumick Slade Sr, son of William Clark Slade and Dora Aumick. Lorraine died on May 8, 2007 at age 86.² She was buried in Arlington National Cemetery, Washington, District of Columbia.²

     Samuel Gorton was born on March 7, 1717 in Warwick, Franklin County, Massachusetts.¹
