     Arthur Roy Slade was born on April 10, 1910 in Champaign County, Illinois.^1,2 He was the son of William Henry Slade and Minnie May McGraw.¹
     Arthur married Ruby B. Smalley on April 10, 1927.² Arthur died on February 4, 1975 at age 64.² He was buried in East Lawn Cemetery, Urbana, Champaign County, Illinois.³ His obituary read as follows:

      Cunningham Township Supervisor Arthur R. Slade Sr., 64, a veteran of more than 40 years in Champaign County Democratic politics, died at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday (Feb. 4, 1975) at his home at 806 E. Park St., U.
Mr. Slade was elected supervisor by 91 votes in 1971 over Republican Raymond Roughton, a 30-year member of the township board.
A construction contractor by trade, Mr. Slade was proud of being born and raised in Urbana's First Ward. After twice loosing close races, he was finally elected First Ward Alderman in 1961.
An advocate of a strong Democratic Party in the country, he pushed for reforms in the central committee bylaws in 1968 and backed the current county committee chairman, Harry Tiebout.
He served as vice chairman of the Urbana Democratic organization from 1962 to 1964 and as chairman from 1964 to 1966. He was also elected Cunningham Township committee chairman in 1964.
Mr. Slade was instrumental in providing grounds and construction of a pavilion at the party's picnic grounds near Mayview in 1966.
Funeral services for Mr. Slade will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Renner-Wikoff Funeral Chapel. Rev. Iva F. Slade will officiate. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral chapel.
He was born April 10, 1910 in Urbana. Ill., a son of William and Minnie McGraw Slade. He married Ruby B. Smalley, April 10, 1927, in Urbana. She survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Barbara Marshky, and Mrs. Naomi Hawn; and a son, Arthur R. Slade, Jr., all of Urbana; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grand children; two sisters, Mrs. Elsy Marshky, Champaign, and Mrs. Genevieve May, Urbana; and two brothers, Rube, Indianapolis, Ind., and Albert, Urbana.

     Charlie Albert Slade was born on June 30, 1907 in Stephenson County, Illinois.^1,3 He was the son of Daniel Slade and Nellie J. Brown.¹ Charlie died on August 10, 1938 at age 31² and was buried in Clements Cemetery, Champaign County, Illinois.^3,2

     Marvin Hamilton Drown was born in July, 1881 in Missouri.¹ He was the son of Theodore Drown.¹
     Marvin married Sarah Katherine Slade, daughter of William Dugan Slade and Armina Harden, in 1901 in Champaign County, Illinois.²

     Myrtle Johnson was born circa 1904 in Illinois.³
     Myrtle married John Harmon Slade, son of Orlando Slade and Arminta 'Mitt' Boley.³

     Dolly Louise Slade was born on December 25, 1928 in Illinois.^3,4 She was the daughter of John Harmon Slade and Myrtle Johnson.^3,1

     Dolly married second Alfred Ducker.¹ Dolly died on April 25, 1980 at age 51⁴ and was buried in Clements Cemetery, Champaign County, Illinois.⁴

     Howard Francis Slade was born on August 21, 1900 in Urbana, Champaign County, Illinois.^1,3 He was the son of Robert Lee Slade and Elsie [?].
     Howard married first Alma Hendricks, daughter of James W. Hendricks, in 1927.⁴
     Howard married Alice Greathouse, daughter of Thomas Greathouse and Melvina Boyles, in July, 1964 in Urbana, Illinois.⁵ Howard died on July 17, 1978 in Urbana, Illinois, at age 77.^1,5 He was buried in Mansfield Cemetery, Mansfield, Platt County, Illinois.²

     Alice Greathouse was born on September 25, 1918 in Seymour, Champaign County, Illinois.¹ She was the daughter of Thomas Greathouse and Melvina Boyles.¹
     Alice married Howard Francis Slade, son of Robert Lee Slade and Elsie [?], in July, 1964 in Urbana, Champaign County, Illinois.¹ Alice died on October 30, 2008 at age 90.¹ She was buried in Bailey Memorial Cemetery, Tolono, Champaign County, Illinois.¹ Her obituary read as follows:

      Alice Slade, 90, of Champaign went home to be with the Lord at 10:40 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, 2008. Private graveside services will be held at Bailey Memorial Cemetery, Tolono. There is no visitation. Freese Funeral Home, 407 N. Bourne, is handling arrangements. Mrs. Slade was born Sept. 25, 1918, in Seymour, a daughter of Thomas and Melvina Boyles Greathouse. She married Howard Slade in July 1964 in Urbana. He preceded her in death on July 17, 1978. Surviving are two daughters, Carolyn Price of Ironwood, Mich., and Jackie Harris of Philo; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a son, a daughter, a grandson, a granddaughter, a great-grandson, four brothers, and four sisters. She was employed at Cole Hospital in Champaign for 31 years as a cook. She was a member of Curtis Road Church of God in Champaign. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and cooking. Family requests no flowers and that memorials be made to Curtis Road Church of God Ladies Ministry.¹

     Paul married Beulah Lykins, daughter of Harry Lykins and Alma Hendricks, on September 30, 1936 in Urbana, Champaign County, Illinois.¹ Paul died on October 21, 1987 at age 71.² He was buried in Mansfield Cemetery, Mansfield, Platt County, Illinois.²

     Abraham Slade was born on June 27, 1847 in Baltimore County, Maryland.^1,2,3 He was the son of Van Rensalear Slade and Elizabeth Matthews.³ Abraham enlisted in the Army on Aug 9, 1866 at Baltimore, for a period of 5 years. He was 19 yrs old, 5' 5" tall, grey eyes, brown hair and fair complection. He stated he was born in New Market. He served in Co. B of the 7th Calvary Regiment, and was discharged April 4, 1867.⁴ Abraham Slade was a railroad conductor.⁵
     Abraham married Elizabeth Anne Ridley in Maryland.¹ Abraham died on December 12, 1932 at age 85.² He was buried in Providence United Methodist Church Cemetery, Hampton, Baltimore County, Maryland.²
