     William Corbett Slade Jr. was born on September 6, 1915 in Lamar County, Texas.² He was the son of William Corbett Slade and Louise Bennett Stuart.¹ In 1941 Bill traveled to England and joined the Royal Air Force. He was assigned to the Eagle Squadron Eventually the US Army Air Corps absorbed the Eagle Squadron and fored the 4th Fighter Group. He returned to the United States after VE day.²
     William married Margie Helen Debuhr on November 11, 1945.^3,2 William was widowed when his wife, Margie, died on April 15, 1982.⁴ William died on June 27, 2016 at age 100.² He was buried in South Park Cemetery, Roswell, Chaves County, New Mexico.²

     Ralph Wendell Slade was born on March 26, 1918 in Harrison County, Texas.^1,3 He was the son of William Corbett Slade and Louise Bennett Stuart.¹
     Ralph married second Jacquiline Dorothea Lacey on July 19, 1937 in Alfalfa County, Oklahoma.⁴
     Ralph married Myrtle Elizabeth Beckett on December 8, 1950 in Tulsa County, Oklahoma,⁵, the daughter of Ina Lance Beckett and Jesse Franklin Becket.⁶
     Ralph married third Winona Pauline Barnes, daughter of Roy Barnes and Clara Ritter, in 1975.⁷ Ralph died on January 18, 2004 at age 85.³ He was buried in Memorial Park Cemetery, Tulsa, Tulsa County, Oklahoma.^8,2

     Betty Louise Slade was born on April 1, 1926 in Arkansas.^1,2 She was the daughter of William Corbett Slade and Louise Bennett Stuart.¹
     Betty married Jesse J. Deboard Jr. on September 21, 1944.³ Betty died on February 19, 2016 in Midwest City, Oklahoma County, Oklahoma, at age 89.²

     James Ivan Slade was born on April 21, 1938 in Oklahoma.² He was the son of William Corbett Slade and Louise Bennett Stuart.¹ James died on October 10, 2002 in Kay County, Oklahoma, at age 64.²

     Jacquiline Dorothea Lacey was born on April 11, 1919 in Kay County, Oklahoma.^1,3
     Jacquiline married Ralph Wendell Slade, son of William Corbett Slade and Louise Bennett Stuart, on July 19, 1937 in Alfalfa County, Oklahoma.² Jacquiline died on December 21, 2005 in Vancouver, Clarke County, Washington, at age 86.³ She was buried in Sunset Memorial Park, Hoquiam, Grays Harbor County, Washington.³

     Stella Maruerite Slade was born circa 1909 in Champaign County, Illinois.² She was the daughter of William Henry Slade and Blanche Ethel Welsh.^2,3
     Stella married Raymond Jones in 1925 in Illinois.¹

     Dr. John Edward Tyler was born on November 23, 1890 in Worcester County, Massachusetts.^1,2
     John married Frances M. Slade, daughter of Walter Randolph Slade and Mary Rebecca Martin.¹ John died in 1957 in Massachusetts.³

     Ruby E. Zollers was born in May, 1893 in Baltimore County, Maryland.¹ She was the daughter of William Zollers and Mary J. [?]²
     Ruby married Dennis Albert Slade, son of Abraham Slade and Elizabeth Anne Ridley.¹

     Ruth T. Slade was born circa 1918 in Baltimore County, Maryland.¹ She was the daughter of Dennis Albert Slade and Ruby E. Zollers.¹
     Ruth married Douglas Ford Horstman.² Ruth died on August 18, 2013 in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.² Her obituary read as follows:

      HORSTMAN , Ruth Slade Ruth Slade Horstman , 95, went home to be with the Lord on August 18, 2013, at home at the Glen at Willow Valley Retirement Community in Willow Street, PA. Daughter of the late Ruby Zoller and Dennis Albert Slade and beloved wife of Douglas Ford Horstman (d. 1989); loving mother of Trudi Klug (Wil) of Baltimore, Doug Jr. of Christiansburg, Becki Proctor (Ed) of Towson, and Deni (Rod Keen) of Cleveland; devoted grandmother of Cindy Stewart (the Rev. Aaron) of Baltimore, Ami Proctor of Joppa, and Carrie Slothour (Wayne) of Dillsburg, PA; stepgrandmother of Paul (Kathleen) and Stephen Keen; great-grandmother of Melody, Jasmine, Alyson, Jade, Collin, Ivy, Rebeka, Willow, Carson, and Harper; and step-great-grandmother of Coty, Taryn, and Caroline. Though Ruth's own memories were clouded by dementia (except for her vast repertoire of old songs and poems), we remember this child of God for her marathons of cookie baking, her decades of Sunday school teaching, her skill at sewing and stitching, her enjoyment of the Willow Valley bowling league, her love for her grandchildren and her grandpets, and her ever-present crossword puzzles.
Visiting at the Lassahn Funeral Home, Inc., 7401 Belair Road (Overlea) on Thursday, 2-5 and 7-9 PM. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 11 AM. Interment Parkwood Cemetery.
