Mrs. Nannie Slade Hedgepeth, the beloved wife of Mr. J.B. Hedgepeth of the Sedley community, died in Memorial Hospital, Richmond, Sunday, September 4, 1921, in the fifty-eighth year of her life. The body was brought to her home the following day and the funeral services were conducted Tuesday, September 6, by Rev. W.B. Fuller of the Ivor Christian Church, assisted by Dr. C.H. Rowland of the Franklin Christian Church, and Rev. A.E. Cloud of Corinth Friends Church.
The deceased was widely loved throughout her home community where she had spent her life and had given herself freely for her family, friends and neighbors. She was a noble woman of many exemplary and enduring qualities and had been since girlhood a faithful and consistent member of Barrett’s Christian Church, loyal to the church of her faith and to the teachings of the Master.
In the immediate family she is survived by her husband, three daughters and two sons, and in the neighborhood a host of warm personal friends will feel keenly the loss to earth of this good woman. The floral tributes laid on her grave by many loving hands were eloquent witnesses of the life she had lived and the service she had wrought.2
