      Edward J. Slade Slade of Gladwyne, PA died December 13, 2012 at Bryn Mawr Hospital of natural causes. He was born in 1918 in Philadelphia, PA, which he always considered his home in spite of military travels which included Korea, Guam, Alaska, Germany, and many US states. He retired after 20 years in the US Army, then worked another 20 years for the US government in procuring supplies for the military. Ed loved to go antique-ing; he said he enjoyed his treasures three times, once at the time of purchase, again while restoring them to their deserved glory, and finally at the time of resale. He was a strong, physically active man, and even in his early 80's was often seen outside his home trimming trees or raking leaves. Ed was predeceased by Laura, his wife of 63 years, his son Edward Jr., and three siblings. He is survived by his sister Stella, his daughter Sandra and husband Steve, his daughter-in-law Sharon, three grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, January 4, 2013 at 9:00 am at Waverly Heights, a place Ed enjoyed for the last ten years of his life. Burial will take place at Valley Forge Cemetery.      Clifton married second Olga May Swanson on October 8, 1928 in Vancover, British Columbia, Canada.³ Olga May Swanson, 32, b Canada, was a widow. Her mother's name was listed as Nellie Andreas. Clifton was listed as divorced.³ Clifton Earl Slade was registered for World War 2 draft in 1942 while living in Everson, Whatcom County, Washington.¹ Clifton died in January, 1965 at age 76.⁴ He was buried in Lynden Cemetery, Whatcom County, Washington.⁵

     Walter Andrew Slade was born on August 18, 1893 in Franklin County, Massachusetts.^1,2 He was the son of Edgar O. Slade and Mary J. Brown.²
     Walter married Bernice Caroline Gilbert in 1918 in Orange, Franklin County, Massachusetts,^3,1, the daughter of James M and Mary E (Tyler) Gilbert. Walter died on September 25, 1979 in Essex County, Massachusetts, at age 86.⁴ He was buried in Green Bower Cemetery, Gardner, Worcester County, Massachusetts.⁴

     Bernice Caroline Gilbert was born in July, 1888 in New Haven County, Connecticut,^2,4, the daughter of James M and Mary E (Tyler) Gilbert.
     Bernice married Walter Andrew Slade, son of Edgar O. Slade and Mary J. Brown, in 1918 in Orange, Franklin County, Massachusetts.^1,2 Bernice died in 1954⁴ and was buried in Green Bower Cemetery, Gardner, Worcester County, Massachusetts.⁴

     Richard Gilbert Slade was born on January 7, 1925 in Massachusetts.^2,3 He was the son of Walter Andrew Slade and Bernice Caroline Gilbert.^1,3 Enlisted in US Navy, July 28, 1943.⁴ The 1952 City Directory of Garner, MA, lists him as a Field Engineer, Chicago, IL, he is living at 25 Westford, Gardner, MA with his wife, Florence. They are living with his parents at same address.⁵ Richard died on May 9, 2002 in Cranbury, New Jersey, at age 77.² He was buried in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, Barnstable County, Massachusetts.⁴

     Kenneth Ogle Slade was born on July 2, 1890 in Whatcom County, Washington.^2,3 He was the son of Harvey S. Slade and Allene Ogle.¹ Kenneth Ogle Slade was registered for the military draft in World War I on June 5, 1917 in Washington.³ He was registered for World War 2 draft in 1942 while living in Washington.⁴ Kenneth died in January, 1967 in Bellingham, Whatcom County, Washington, at age 76.⁵ He was buried in Lynden Cemetery, Whatcom County, Washington.⁶

     Douglas Hubert Slade was born in May, 1899 in Lynden, Whatcom County, Washington.² He was the son of Harvey S. Slade and Allene Ogle.¹ Douglas Hubert Slade was registered for the military draft in World War I on September 12, 1918 in Blain, Whatcom County, Washington, High School Student.³
     Douglas married Charlotte Louise Lester, daughter of Alexander Lester and Agnes Jane Marks, circa 1929.⁴
     Douglas married second Jessica B. [?] circa 1943 in Sunset Hills Memorial Park, Bellevue, King County, Washington.⁵ Douglas died in August, 1980 at age 81.⁶ He was buried in Bellevue, Washington.⁷

     Samuel T. Pulliam was born circa 1802 in Virginia.² He was the son of Mosby Pulliam and Sally Timberlake.¹ Samuel T. Pulliam witnessed the will of Martha T. Pulliam in 1854 in Richmond, Virginia.³
