Elmer Jackson "Jack" Slade, 77, of Acworth passed away Jan. 29, 2012, at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta after a short illness. He was born Nov. 18, 1934, in Bluefield, Va., to the late James Roy and Ethel Virginia Cundiff Slade. Jack grew up in the Methodist faith on Bluefield Tazewell Road and attended Bluestone and Dudley Elementary Schools. He graduated from Graham High School in 1953. Jack was a welder and truck driver by profession having worked in Danville, Ill., and Marietta before retiring from Trism Trucking in 2001. Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Bettie Slade; son, Jae Jackson "JJ" Klinkow; brother, James Roy Slade Jr; and stepdaughter, Donna Sue Barnette.
