     George Alfred Slade was born circa 1895 in East Hagbourne, Berkshire, England.¹ He was born in 1895 in Wokingham, Berkshire, England.² He was the son of John Thomas Slade and Minnie Crawford.¹ George Alfred Slade resided in Brandon, Manitoba, Canada, on August 3, 1915when he submitted his Attestation Paper. It indicated that he was a Stone Clerk and nearest relative was J.T. Slade in Wokingham, Berks, England.³
     George married Evelyn [?].⁴ George died in 1972 in Gainsborough, Saskatchewan, Canada.⁵

     Rodney Hubert Slade was born in 1934 in Anyox, British Columbia, Canada.¹ He was the son of Hubert Arthur Slade and Ruth Nightscales.¹
     Rodney married Eleanor Irene Wain on June 12, 1959 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, at St. Micheal's Anglican Church^2,1, the daughter of Edith & Herbert J Wain.² Rodney died on March 19, 2021.¹ His obituary read as follows:

      Rodney Hubert Slade 1934-2021 It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Rod Slade, who died peacefully in the presence of family on March 19, 2021. Born in 1934 in the small mining town of Anyox, BC, he spent most of his life in West Vancouver where he attended Hollyburn Elementary and West Van High. Rod loved visiting with people and had many friends and community connections. As a young man, he adventured with a friend, jumping trains down the west coast to California. He studied engineering at the University of British Columbia, and while studying was offered a position with BC Tel where he could use his aptitude for problem-solving. Rod joined the Phi Alpha Pi fraternity where he formed many lifelong friendships. He met Eleanor through mutual friends and they were married in St. Micheal's Anglican Church, Vancouver in 1959. As a dedicated father of two boys, he brought them joy by coaching soccer, installing a swimming pool, building homemade games, electric car racing sets and robots. The family enjoyed trips to Hawaii, California and the Okanagan. His door was always open to friends and neighbours who would come sit with him, chat and enjoy the view from his kitchen window. Rod took pleasure looking out at the ocean, counting the freighters in the harbour each day and sharing the daily tally with his sons. In their retirement years, Rod and Eleanor enjoyed many cruises with good friends through the Caribbean, Alaska, California, and the Mediterranean. Rod will be remembered with love and gratitude by his family and friends. He is predeceased by his wife, Eleanor Slade, and his parents, Ruth and Hubert Slade. He is survived by his brother, Bill Slade (Ruth Slade); his two sons, Bradley Slade (Brillian Suksma Dewi) and Allan Slade (Marie Slade); his grandchildren, Tyller Slade (Sarah Slade), Tamara Fruhstorfer (Clark Taylor), Timothy, Oliver, and Elly Slade; and his great-grandchildren, Ethan and Alison Slade. A gathering in his memory will be planned for a future date when provincial restrictions allow.

     Reginald married Annie Genge Slade, daughter of Charles Ellery Slade and Charlotte Agnes Genge, Q1 1923 in Somerset.¹ Reginald Charles England was Boot repairman in 1939.² Reginald died Q3 1960 in Weymouth, Dorset, England, at age 65.⁴

     Henry Manfred Slade was born circa 1867 in Stepney, Tower Hamlets, Middlesex, England.¹ He was the son of William James Slade and Sarah Ann [?].¹ Henry Manfred Slade was baptized on December 15, 1867; at St Thomas, Stepney Parish.¹

     ² Velma Foles was buried in Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery, Harris County, Texas.³ She was born on March 15, 1904 in Mississippi.^2,41
