     Glen Eugene Slade was born on April 25, 1929 in Mason County, West Virginia.1 He was the son of William Russell Slade and Belva Juanita Rodgers.1 Glen died on December 13, 2018 at age 89.2 He was buried in Locust Grove Cemetery, Vinton County, Ohio.2 His obituary read as follows:

      Glen Eugene Slade, 89, of McArthur, passed away Thursday, Dec. 13, 2018 at Jenkins Care Community in Wellston.
He was born April 25, 1929 in Elmwood, West Virginia, son of the late William Russell and Belva Juanita Rogers Slade. Glen was married to Barbara Ann Gehring Slade, who survives.
He retired from General Motors after 30 years of service, was a member of Locust Grove Church, a member of the Baltimore Masonic Lodge #475 F&AM and a member of the United Auto Workers #969.
He is survived by his sons, William Russell Slade of Groveport and John David Slade of Columbus; daughter, Rosana Lynn (Larry) Bush of Lancaster; step-sons, Michael Eugene Adams of Marengo and James Craig Adams of Marengo; grandchildren, Jamie (Liz) Yost, Alex (Tiffany) Bush, Ryan Slade, Kevin Slade, Priscilla (JD) Mathys, Heather Adams, Bruce Adams, Jason Adams, Kelly Crawford and Tina Lynch; 15 great-grandchildren; brother, Furl (Peggy) Slade of Columbus; and a sister, Dorothy Sargent of Columbus.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepson, Bruce Adams; sister, Hazel Yost; and brother, Buford Slade.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2018 in the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur, with Pastor Bill Barnett and Rev. Jim Taylor officiating. Interment will be in Locust Grove Cemetery, Vinton County. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. with a masonic service being held at 7 p.m.

Pulliam, on January 21, 1832 in Richmond, Virginia.3 A conflicting date of marriage [Jan 31, 1832] is given in a report published Feb 2, 1832 in the Constitutional Whig newspaper: Married- Last evening (Jan. 31), at the house of Samuel T. Pulliam, by Rev. Penn, Mr. Seth Libby, to Miss Mary Duncan, only daughter of the late John Slade, all of Richmond.4 Seth died on October 9, 1832 in Richmond, Henrico County, Virginia.5
