William Slade was born on August 29, 1824 in Brookfield, Orange County, Vermont.2 He was the son of Enoch Slade and Penelope Wellington.1 He removed with his parents at the age of thirteen to Thetford VT and spent the rest of his life there. On marrying, he brought his wife to live with his father and step-mother. He was an insurance agent for many years and also justice of the peace. He was a quiet and unassuming, devoted to his family and respected in town for his good judgment.2
William married Helen Lucena Palmer, daughter of Jared Palmer and Mary [?], on November 26, 1855.2 William died on January 28, 1878 at age 532 and was buried in Evergreen Rest Cemetery, Thetford Hill, Orange County, Vermont.3

Hannah A. Slade was born on August 19, 1828 in Brookfield, Orange County, Vermont.1 She was the daughter of Enoch Slade and Penelope Wellington.1 She was eduacated in Thetford Academy, Vermont, where she pursued the higher branches of Greek, Latin and Mathematics and gained a high reputation for scholarship. After leaving the Academy, she went to Boston and studied music and French.2
Hannah married Hon. Moody Currier on November 16, 1869.2 She was his third wife. After her marriage, she continued her studies with her husband, but devoted herself mainly to the care of her home and husband during his declining years.2 Hannah died in 1913.3 She was buried in Valley Cemetery, Manchester, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire.3
Hannah married Hon. Moody Currier on November 16, 1869.2 She was his third wife. After her marriage, she continued her studies with her husband, but devoted herself mainly to the care of her home and husband during his declining years.2 Hannah died in 1913.3 She was buried in Valley Cemetery, Manchester, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire.3

Hon. Moody Currier1
(22 April 1806 - 23 August 1898)
Hon. Moody Currier was born on April 22, 1806 in Boscawen, Merrimack County, New Hampshire.2 His education was attained at an academy in Hopkinton, and at Dartmouth College, where he graduated in 1834. After working as an editor and teacher, Currier studied law. He established his legal career in Manchester, but after a few years of practicing, became involved in the banking and railroad industries. Currier first entered politics as clerk of the New Hampshire State Senate, a position he held from 1843 to 1844. He also served as a member of the New Hampshire State Senate from 1856 to 1857, serving as president of the senate in 1857. From 1860 to 1861 he served on the Governor's Council and was chairman of the war committee.2
Moody married third Hannah A. Slade, daughter of Enoch Slade and Penelope Wellington, on November 16, 1869.3 He served as a presidential elector in 1876. Currier next secured the Republican gubernatorial nomination, and was elected governor by a popular vote in 1885. During his tenure, fiscal measures were initiated to lessen the state's declining economy; and legislation was sanctioned that mandated insurance companies to reimburse policy owners the entire value of their policies. William Slade Wolfe was born on November 26, 1811 in Rockingham, Windham County, Vermont.1 He was the son of John Wolfe and Achsah Slade.1 His parents both died when he was about one year old and he was brought up in Alstead by his grandfather, William Slade, on the home farm. He resided in Springfield, Vermont, and was a farmer and carpenter. He carried on his farm until 1882, when Allen L. Slade, who had married his eldest daughter, bougth the farm of him, moved on and with his wife, cared for her parents as long as they lived.2
