     Thomas married Clarissa Burroughs, daughter of Captain John Burroughs and Mehitabel Carlton, on January 15, 1801.2 Thomas died on December 12, 1830 in Middlesex, Washington County, Vermont, at age 50.2

     Anna Slade was born on March 24, 1782 in Alstead, Cheshire County, New Hampshire.1 She was the daughter of William Slade and Anna Root.1
     Anna married John Burroughs, son of Captain John Burroughs and Mehitabel Carlton, on March 3, 1805.2 He was the son of Captain John and Mahitabel (Carlton) Burroughs of Almstead.3 Anna died on October 2, 1837 in Alstead, New Hampshire, at age 552 and was buried in Slade Cemetery, Cheshire County, New Hampshire, next to her husband, John Burroughs.2,4

     Achsah married John Wolfe on December 28, 1808 in Alstead, New Hampshire.1 He was the son of John Casper Shannon and Rachel (Battles) Wolfe of Rockingham.1 Achsah died on March 26, 1813 in Rockingham, Vermont, at age 27.1 She was buried in John Slade Cemetery, Alstead, Cheshire County, New Hampshire.3

Asenath Slade1

     Asenath Slade was born on April 6, 1787 in Alstead, Cheshire County, New Hampshire.1 She was the daughter of William Slade and Anna Root.1
     Asenath married Anson Graves on January 1, 1806 in Alstead, New Hampshire.2 He was the son of Aaron Graves, Jr, who was born in Walpole, February 11, 1760.2,3 Asenath and Anson were the parents of nine children. They resided in Walpole Valley, not far from the Griswold Tavern. Later, the family removed to Alton, Illinois.4 Asenath died in Alton, Illinois, at the home of her son William in Alton.4

William Slade1

(6 August 1790 - 14 May 1837)
     William Slade was born on August 6, 1790 in Alstead, Cheshire County, New Hampshire.1 He was the son of William Slade and Anna Root.1
     William married Clarissa Scovell on September 14, 1809 in Alstead, New Hampshire.2 Clarissa was the sister of Frederick Scovell, who came to Walpole early in the nineteenth century.2 He lived on his father's farm in Alstead until about 1820 when he moved to Winhall, Vermont and bought a farm there. A few years later, he sold that farm and removed to Albany, New York with all of his family. He was a good musician and played the violin in a theatre in Albany. He was crossing a street in Albany, when he was run into by a milk wagon. The shaft penetrated his side and caused his death.3 William died on May 14, 1837 at age 462 and was buried in Albany Rural Cemetery, Menands, Rensselaer County, New York.4

Allen Slade1

(26 May 1796 - 12 February 1884)
     Allen Slade was born on May 26, 1796 in Alstead, Cheshire County, New Hampshire.1 He was the son of William Slade and Anna Root.1 When only eighteen, he enlisted, Sept 25, 1814, for sixty days in Capt. James M. Warner's company in the Second Regiment of Detached Militia and held the rank of corporal. The regiment marched to the defence of Portsmouth, which it was the intention of the British to attach and to destroy the Navy Yard; but so large a force of troops was gathered for the defence that the British gave up the attempt and withdrew. For this service, Allen Slade drew a pension from the U.S. Government.
     Allen Slade and his cousin, Samuel Slade, Jr., lived on adjoining farms, were warmly attached to each other, helped each other in farm work and owned and carried on together the cider mill, which ad belonged to their fathers, and which was an important help in the support of their families. both were fine singers and both taught singing school. It is said that Allen refused to sing after Samuel's death.2
     Allen married Nancy Kingsbury on March 15, 1818 in Alstead, New Hampshire.3 Allen Slade died on February 12, 1884 at age 87 in the same house in which he was born.3 He was buried in Slade Cemetery, Cheshire County, New Hampshire.3,4

Henry Slade1

(11 October 1798 - 17 July 1863)
     Henry Slade was born on October 11, 1798 in Alstead, Cheshire County, New Hampshire.1 He was the son of William Slade and Anna Root.1
     Henry married Roxanna Mellish, daughter of Stephen Mellish and Roxalana Eaton, on January 27, 1822 in Walpole, New Hampshire.2 He resided in Drewsvill, a part of Walpole, and also in Saxton's River Village, Vermont. He was a manufacturer of lace leather, a tanner and currier and carried on the business at Saxton's River for about twelve years, before his removal to Charleston about 1849.2 Henry died on July 17, 1863 at age 64 and was buried in Charlestown, Sullivan County, New Hampshire.3
