     William Hooker Slade Jr. was born on June 19, 1858 in Columbus, Franklin County, Ohio. He was the son of William Hooker Slade and Marion Elizabeth Bell.¹ William died on July 2, 1864 in Ohio at age 6. William was killed by being thrown from a pony.

     Elizabeth Undine Slade was born on January 13, 1855 in Columbus, Franklin County, Ohio.¹ She was the daughter of William Hooker Slade and Marion Elizabeth Bell.²
     Elizabeth married Edwin Francis Voris, son of General Alvin Coe Voris, on October 21, 1879 in Columbus, Ohio.¹ Elizabeth died on September 15, 1930 at age 75.³ She was buried in Glendale Cemetery, Akron, Summit County, Ohio.³

     Marion Bell Slade was born on December 28, 1861 in Columbus, Franklin County, Ohio.¹ She was the daughter of William Hooker Slade and Marion Elizabeth Bell.²

     Frank Norman Slade was born on December 25, 1862 in Columbus, Franklin County, Ohio. He was the son of William Hooker Slade and Marion Elizabeth Bell.¹
     Frank married Mary Varga, daughter of Francis Varga and Mary Sanders, on June 19, 1895 in Leon, Decatur County, Iowa.² In 1900, Frank was the manager of an iron works in Erie, Pennsylvania.³

     Clara Amelia Slade was born on February 14, 1866 in Columbus, Franklin County, Ohio. She was the daughter of William Hooker Slade and Marion Elizabeth Bell.²
     Clara married Frank J. Taylor on June 3, 1889 in Franklin County, Ohio.³ Clara died in New Jersey.

     Olive Slade was born on March 3, 1869 in Columbus, Franklin County, Ohio.^1,2 She was the daughter of William Hooker Slade and Marion Elizabeth Bell.³
     Olive married Robert M. Van Deusen on April 28, 1891 in Franklin County, Ohio.⁴ Olive died in Colorado.

     Alice Cary Slade was born on February 11, 1871 in Columbus, Franklin County, Ohio.¹ She was the daughter of William Hooker Slade and Marion Elizabeth Bell.²
     Alice married Albert A. Kohler on November 27, 1894. Alice died in Ohio.

     Abby Field Slade was born on June 30, 1875 in Columbus, Franklin County, Ohio. She was the daughter of William Hooker Slade and Marion Elizabeth Bell.¹ Abby died in California.
     Abby married Ernest Whitney Martin on May 23, 1900 in Franklin County, Ohio.²

     Abner Slade was born on May 5, 1756 in Windsor, Hartford County, Connecticut.¹ He was the son of Corp. James S. Slade and Experience Parker.
     Abner married Olive Stanclift, daughter of Josiah Stanclift, in Windsor, Connecticut.¹ Abner died on January 8, 1846 at age 89¹ and was buried in Barkhamsted Center Cemetery, Litchfield County, Connecticut.²

     Olive Stanclift was born on May 2, 1759 in Middlesex County, Connecticut.^1,2 She was the daughter of Josiah Stanclift.²
     Olive married Abner Slade, son of Corp. James S. Slade and Experience Parker, in Windsor, Hartford County, Connecticut.¹ Olive died on April 26, 1825 in Barkhamsted, Litchfield County, Connecticut, at age 65.² She was buried in Barkhamsted Center Cemetery, Litchfield County, Connecticut.²

     Abner Slade Jr. was born on August 10, 1797 in Barkhamsted, Litchfield County, Connecticut.¹ He was the son of Abner Slade and Olive Stanclift.
     Abner married fifth Fanny Stanclift.¹ Abner died on April 26, 1888 in Barkhamsted, Connecticut, at age 90² and was buried in Barkhamsted Center Cemetery, Litchfield County, Connecticut.^3,4

     Fanny married fifth Abner Slade Jr., son of Abner Slade and Olive Stanclift.³ Fanny died on October 16, 1871 at age 66.³ She was buried in Barkhamsted Center Cemetery, Litchfield County, Connecticut.²

     Nelson F. Slade was born on January 31, 1834 in Litchfield County, Connecticut.¹ He was the son of Abner Slade Jr. and Fanny Stanclift.
     Nelson married Julia Reynolds, daughter of William Reynolds and Rhumacher [?].² Nelson died on March 27, 1905 in Barkhamsted, Litchfield County, Connecticut, at age 71.³ He was buried in Barkhamsted Center Cemetery, Litchfield County, Connecticut.⁴

     Julia Reynolds was New Tag in October, 1829 in Rhode Island.¹ She was born on October 17, 1831 in Providence, Providence County, Rhode Island.² She was the daughter of William Reynolds and Rhumacher [?].^3,4
     Julia married Nelson F. Slade, son of Abner Slade Jr. and Fanny Stanclift.³ Julia is shown as mother of 4, 3 are living. They have been married 44 years.¹ Julia died on March 27, 1902 at age 70⁵ and was buried in Barkhamsted Center Cemetery, Litchfield County, Connecticut.⁵

     Parish Perry Slade was born on October 9, 1861 in Barkhamsted, Litchfield County, Connecticut.^2,3 He was the son of Nelson F. Slade and Julia Reynolds.
     Parish married Catherine L. Conlin, daughter of William Conlin and Abbie [?], circa 1885.⁴ Parish died on April 2, 1952 at age 90.^2,1 He was buried in Barkhamsted Center Cemetery, Litchfield County, Connecticut.¹

     Catherine L. Conlin was born in April, 1864 in Connecticut.^2,1 She was the daughter of William Conlin and Abbie [?].³ Her parents were both born in Ireland.¹
     Catherine married Parish Perry Slade, son of Nelson F. Slade and Julia Reynolds, circa 1885.¹

     William Edward Slade was born on February 1, 1890 in East Hartford, Hartford County, Connecticut.^1,2 He was the son of Parish Perry Slade and Catherine L. Conlin.
     William married Grace Ethel Pond. William died on January 5, 1919 in Meriden, New Haven County, Connecticut, at age 28.³

     Milton William Slade was born on January 29, 1909 in Bristol, Hartford County, Connecticut.¹ He was the son of William Edward Slade and Grace Ethel Pond.
     Milton married Marie Agnes Northrop.² Milton died on August 1, 1991 in Torrington, Litchfield County, Connecticut, at age 82.¹ He was buried in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol, Hartford County, Connecticut.³ His obituary read as follows:

      Milton W. Slade, retired operator of Bristol Memorial Works in Bristol and the Baldwin Monumental Works in Torrington, died Thursday at his home in Torrington. He was eighty-two.
Slade was a past president of the Connecticut Monument Builders and a member of the Monument Builders of America. He retired in 1986.
He was a past grand knight of the Knights of Columbus in Bristol, where he had been a member for fifty years.
Slade was a member of the Torrington Lodge of Elks, the Lions Club, the Eagles Club, the Forresters, the Torringford Grange, and the Holy Family Retreat League.
He leaves his wife of sixty-one years, Marie Northrop Slade; a son, William Slade of Cheshire; eight grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
Another son, Richard Slade, died in 1987.
The funeral will be held on Monday at 9:45 a.m. at Gleeson Mortuary, 258 Prospect Street, Torrington, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in St. Francis Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol.
Calling hours at Gleeson Mortuary will be held on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.

     Judith Leonard was born on December 23, 1934 in Torrington, Litchfield County, Connecticut.^1,2 She was the daughter of Earl Johnson Leonard and Laura Duplain.
     Judith married M. William Slade, son of Milton William Slade and Marie Agnes Northrop, on August 20, 1955.¹ Judith died on August 11, 2004 in Hartford County, Connecticut, at age 69.^2,3 She was buried in Hillside Cemetery, Cheshire, New Haven County, Connecticut.³ Her obituary read as follows:

      Judith (Leonard) Slade, 69, of Southington, Misquamicut Beach, R.I., Satellite Beach, Fla., and formerly of Cheshire, died Aug. 11, 2004, after a period of declining health from pancreatic cancer. She was the wife of M. William Slade Jr. for 48 year; they were married Aug. 20, 1955, in Torrrington.

She was born Dec. 23, 1934, in Torrington, the daughter of the late Earle J. and Laura Duplain Leonard. She was the 11th-generation descendant of William and Judith Learned (Leonard), who came from England in 1632, settling in Charlestown, Mass. She retired from the business office of the Cheshire Department of Education after 23 years as manager of payroll. She had served as a volunteer at the Westerly Hospital in Rhode Island.

Besides her husband, she is survived by six children, Laurie Slade and her partner, James Bartelmo; Todd Slade and his fiancee, Nancy Brunetti; Lynn and her husband, Gary Beard; Karen S. Hekeler; Barry Slade and his wife, Victoria; and Kevin Slade and his wife, Heidi. She is survived by 16 grandchildren; Kate, Anne and Sara Bartelmo and Alex Soriano; Reid, Whitney and Kylie Slade; Eric and Matthew Beard; Kenneth Hekeler; Laura, Dylan and Brandon Slade; Max, Connor and Kirsten Slade; and David and Karen Brunetti. She also is survived by two brothers, Robert Leonard and his wife, Martha, of Torrington, and Francis (Ozzie) Leonard and wife, Rita, of West Hartford; and a sister, Marilyn, and her husband, Joseph Romanski, of Norwich. A Mass was celebrated Aug. 14 at the Immaculate Conception Church, Southington. Burial was in Hillside Cemetery, Cheshire. Memorial donations may be made to the Franciscan Hospice Care, 267 Finch Ave., Meriden, CT 06451-2715. The DellaVecchia Funeral Home, Southington, was in charge of arrangements.
