James Bog Slade

(2 February 1831 - 1 November 1886)
     James Bog Slade was born on February 2, 1831 in North Carolina.1,2 He was the son of William Slade and Penelope Williams. He attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and became a member of the Dialectic Society in 1848. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1852. He later became a cotton farmer nd General Commission Merchant.
     James married Mary Elizabeth Denson, daughter of Joseph Denson, in 1856 in Muscogee County, Georgia. James died on November 1, 1886 at age 552 and was buried in Linwood Historic Cemetery, Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia.2

Jeremiah Slade

(14 October 1833 - 13 August 1888)
     Jeremiah Slade was born on October 14, 1833 in North Carolina.1,2 He was the son of William Slade and Penelope Williams. He attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and became a member of the Dialectic Society in 1851. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1855 and returned to Williamston where he became a planter and farmer.3 Jeremiah died on August 13, 1888 in Slade Family Cemetery, Hamilton, Martin County, North Carolina, at age 54.2

William Slade

(April 1841 - 20 November 1919)
     William Slade was born in April, 1841 in Martin County, North Carolina.1 He was the son of William Slade and Penelope Williams.
     William married Cordelia Hassell in 1868.2 The 1900 census indicated that Cordelia was mother of one, but none were living. Also living in their household were her nephew, John L. Hassell, 20, and neice, Margy Hassell, 16.2 Cordelia's neice and nephew were sill living with them in 1910. William died on November 20, 1919 at age 78 found dead in bed.3
