     Thelma Edward Slade was born on November 1, 1929 in Nashville, Georgia.1 She was the daughter of Edward Price Slade Jr. and Mattie Thelma Fletcher.1
     Thelma married Junius Gordon Privette.1 Thelma Edward Slade was living in November, 2000 in Bishopville, South Carolina.1 Thelma died on December 28, 2011 in Raleigh, Wake County, North Carolina, at age 82.1 Her obituary read as follows:

      Thelma Edward Slade Privette, 82, peacefully went home to be with her Lord in the early morning hours of December 28. 2011. Thelma was born on November 1, 1929, in Nashville, Georgia, to Mattie Thelma Fletcher and Edward Price Slade. She was the youngest of six children and was predeceased by four of her five Siblings – Norman Slade, Eula Lee, Dorothy Kilgore, and Mary Sirman. Her remaining living sister, Betty Phillips, resides in Florida. Thelma lived with her husband of sixty-two years, Junius Gordon Privette, in Bishopville, SC until December, 2000, when they moved to North Carolina to be closer to their children. Her husband went home to be with the Lord in July, 2006. Thelma was a resident at Carolina House of Wake Forest for several years following her husband's death and was in the Hospice Home in Raleigh, NC when she died. She is survived by her three; sons and their wives: Ed and Eleanor Privette, Bobby and Dawn Privette, and Tommy and Alma Privette. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren; and seven great- grandchildren and was predeceased by another granddaughter, SSgt. Lori Anne Privette, who died in January, 2004. Graveside funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday February 18, 2012 at the Poplarville City Cemetery for Mrs. Dorothy Jean "Dot" Slade Russell, 85, of Humboldt, Iowa, formerly of Hattiesburg, Mississippi who died Wednesday February 15, 2012 in Gulfport, Mississippi. Reverend Grady Parker will officiate at the service.
     
"Dot" lived her life as an example of a Godly woman to all who came in contact with her. More than anything, she loved her Lord and served Him daily, praying for her family and others, always caring, always available to those in need. She loved music, passing that love down to her children and grandchildren as she sang in her church choir or at family gatherings. She was a nature-lover and enjoyed gardening and raising flowers. Her long-time church family at 19th Avenue Baptist Church in Hattiesburg knew her as a student of the Bible and a prayer warrior, as well as a loving friend and mentor to many.
     Born in Houston, Texas and raised in the Poplarville, Mississippi area she was born to Charles and Minnie McCoy Moody-Byrd. She was a homemaker and a military wife who traveled the world caring for her husband and family as he served our nation's interests.
     

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Sebron Daniel "S.D." Slade, Sr; her second husband; J.C. Russell; one son, Sebron Daniel "Danny" Slade, Jr; one grandson, Nathan Slade; and one brother, George Byrd.
     

Survivors include: one son, Eugene Slade and his wife Colleen of Provo, UT; two daughters, Cynthia Sullivan and her husband Dean of Buena Vista, CO and Ellen Green and her husband Curt of Humboldt, IA; daughter-in-law, Kathy Slade of Wade, MS; two brothers, Charles Byrd of Poplarville, MS and Harvey "Rusty" Buckley of Hattiesburg, MS; two sisters, Betty Conn Lee of Gulfport, MS and Jean "Tootsie" Strahan of Hattiesburg, MS; thirteen grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.1
She was buried in Poplarville Cemetery, Pearl River County, Mississippi.2

      Mrs. Pearlie Forehand Slade, 75, of Rt 6 Box 92, North Biloxi, died Tuesday at Howard Memorial Hospital. She was a native of the Daisy Vestry Community, Jackson Co., has lived most of her life in Biloxi. She was a member of the First Pentecostal Jesus Name Church.

Survivors include two sons, Jewell Slade of Pascagoula and Robert Slade of Ocean Springs: four sisters Ruth Kriss, Alice Shoemaker, Dora McQueen, all of Biloxi, and Leona Wright of Indiana; three brothers, John Forehand, of North Biloxi, Norman Forehand and Bud Forehand both of Biloxi; five grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

      Mr. Robert L. "Bob" Slade, Sr., 66, of Perkinston died on Sept. 15, 2004 at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg.
     Mr. Slade was a member of Tuxechena Baptist Church. He was a mason in the McLeod Lodge in Ocean Springs. He retired as a Master Sergeant after serving in the Air Force for 20 years. He was in the Civil Engineering Squadron as a heating and air conditioning tech at Keesler Air Force Base for 20 years and retired in 1999.
     
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmore and Pearlie Mae Slade, Sr., and a brother, Elmore Slade, Jr.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Joyce W. Slade of Perkinston; a son, Robert L. Slade, Jr. of Arlington, TX; two daughters, Heather Marie Slade of Hattiesburg, and Sharon Lea Curtis of San Antonio, TX; a brother, Jewel Slade of Pascagoula, MS; four grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Monday from 5-9 at Moore Funeral Home. Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Sumrall Cemetery. Moore Funeral Home in Wiggins is in charge of arrangements.1

     Jewel married Lucy Smith in 1947.3,2 She was the daughter of Grover and Evea Smith of Pascagoula.3 Jewel Slade resided in Pascagoula, Jackson County, Mississippi, in 2004.1 He was living on March 9, 2017 in Pascagoula, Mississippi.3 Jewel died on January 31, 2018 in Pascagoula, Mississippi, at age 91.2 His obituary read as follows:

and has been a lifelong resident of Mississippi Gulf Coast. Mr. Slade was a firefighter for City of Pascagoula and Keesler Air Force Base for over 27 years. In 1980, he and his wife began making ceramics together and in 1984 established Singing River Ceramics in Pascagoula until his wife health declined in 2009. He attended First Baptist Church in Escatawpa until his wife wasn't physically able to attend. He is preceded in death by his wife of 71 years,
