Thelma Edward Slade Privette, 82, peacefully went home to be with her Lord in the early morning hours of December 28. 2011. Thelma was born on November 1, 1929, in Nashville, Georgia, to Mattie Thelma Fletcher and Edward Price Slade. She was the youngest of six children and was predeceased by four of her five Siblings – Norman Slade, Eula Lee, Dorothy Kilgore, and Mary Sirman. Her remaining living sister, Betty Phillips, resides in Florida. Thelma lived with her husband of sixty-two years, Junius Gordon Privette, in Bishopville, SC until December, 2000, when they moved to North Carolina to be closer to their children. Her husband went home to be with the Lord in July, 2006. Thelma was a resident at Carolina House of Wake Forest for several years following her husband's death and was in the Hospice Home in Raleigh, NC when she died. She is survived by her three; sons and their wives: Ed and Eleanor Privette, Bobby and Dawn Privette, and Tommy and Alma Privette. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren; and seven great- grandchildren and was predeceased by another granddaughter, SSgt. Lori Anne Privette, who died in January, 2004. In 1980, he and his wife began making ceramics together and in 1984 established Singing River Ceramics in Pascagoula until his wife health declined in 2009. He attended First Baptist Church in Escatawpa until his wife wasn't physically able to attend. He is preceded in death by his wife of 71 years,

Joyce Slade, Wiggins, MS; numerous other relatives and special friends. Memorial Service will be Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2018, 6:00pm, at O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Pascagoula.
