     Frances Helen Rogge was born on January 25, 1912 in Mississippi.¹
     Frances married John Rudolph Slade, son of Rodolphus Slade and Minnie Melissa Bounds.¹ Frances died on November 28, 1998 at age 86.¹ She was buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Gulfport, Harrison County, Mississippi.¹ Her obituary read as follows:

      Frances R. Slade, 86, died Saturday, Nov. 28, 1998, in Gulfport.

Mrs. Slade was a native and lifelong resident of the Gulf Coast. She was a homemaker and was a member of St. Peter's by the Sea Episcopal Church.

Survivors include her husband, John R. Slade; a son, Stan Slade of Long Beach; a daughter, Phyllis Burger of Gulfport; and five grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Evergreen Cemetery. Riemann Funeral Home, 25th Avenue in Gulfport is in charge of arrangements.

     Hattie Mae Dillard was born on March 19, 1913 in Louisiana.² She was the daughter of Artis Dillard and Sarah Elizabeth Kahl.³
     Hattie married Harvey Edward Slade, son of John Slade and Sarah Ann [?].² Hattie died on February 26, 1965 at age 51² and was buried in Bush Cemetery, St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana.²

     Harvey E. Slade Jr. was born on September 13, 1936 in St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana.^1,2 He was the son of Harvey Edward Slade and Hattie Mae Dillard.¹ Harvey died on June 14, 1966 at age 29² and was buried in Grantham Cemetery, St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana.²

     Willie M. Parker was born on April 20, 1871.¹
     Willie married Amelia Slade, daughter of John Slade and Sarah Ann [?].^1,2 Willie died on September 15, 1944 at age 73.¹ He was buried in Holmes Cemetery, St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana.¹

     Marjorie Brown was born circa 1919 in Jamesville, North Carolina.¹
     Marjorie married William H. Griffin.¹ Marjorie died on May 26, 2014.¹ She was buried in Woodlawn Cemetery, Williamston, Martin County, North Carolina.¹ Her obituary read as follows:

      Marjorie Brown Griffin, 95, passed away on Monday, May 26, 2014 at her home surrounded by her loving family,

Born and raised in Jamesville, NC, she was the daughter of Archie and Dare Brown. She was always proud of her family and her roots, In 1939, she married William H."Billy" Griffin and moved to Williamston, NC. She was by all accounts a homemaker, raising three wonderful daughters, and was very involved in all of their activities. She was a faithful member of First Christian Church and the local Lioness Chapter here in Williamston. Later she became a grandmother to seven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren that she adored until the day that she died. She taught her family that home is where you are always welcome and openly loved. She nourished her family with Southern dishes of boiled cabbage, fried chicken, and homemade biscuits around a table full of warm conversation, Her back porch was a place that family and friends could gather, rock in her rocking chairs, drink a bottled Coke and solve all the world's problems. Her door was always open, her hugs were full of love, and her laugh was infectious. She will be greatly missed.

During the last years, what mattered most were her frequent adventures out of the house on car rides and visits from family and friends. She never lost her smile, laugh and joy with which we all knew and loved. Our Mother's gift for family and talent for empathy were her lifetime achievements, and by all accounts rendered her with much success. Our family gives an extra special thank you to her devoted caregivers: Barbara, Emmie, Betty, Anita, Tina, Wendy and Chris, Because of you and your wonderful care, Mother was able to stay in her home, retain her independence and continue to enjoy all the days of her life.

In addition to her parents and eight siblings, Mrs. Griffin was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Griffin in 2003, She is survived by daughters: Betty Griffin Robertson and husband Gerald, of Raleigh, NC; Nancy Griffin Lewis and husband Bill of Mansfield, GA; and Kathy Griffin Slade and husband Taylor of Williamston, NC, Grandchildren: Tracey Robertson Lewis, Thomas Stephen Richardson, Crissy Robertson Jeckel, Stephanie Elizabeth Carter, Mary Katherine Slade Saunders, Richard Bog Slade and Jodie Rebecca Lewis. Great Grandchildren; Anna Brook Richardson, Ashley Elizabeth Jeckel, Allison Katherine Jeckel, Erin Elizabeth Carter, William Andrew Lewis, Griffin Allen Carter, Jacob Ethan Carter, Gavin Alexander Jeckel, Matthew James Lewis, Phillip Gregory Carter, Katie Frances Carter, Thomas Bog Slade, William Taylor Saunders and Abby Grace Carter.

The family will receive friends at Biggs Funeral Home from 1 to 2:30 pm on Wednesday, May 28th. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 28 at 3pm at Woodlawn Cemetery in Williamston, NC.¹

     Alvin Simmons was born on December 28, 1899.¹
     Alvin married Bertrell Slade, daughter of James Volney Slade and Alma Slade.¹ Alvin died on December 25, 1980 at age 80.¹ He was buried in Tyner Cemetery at Clear Branch Church, Lamar County, Mississippi.¹

     Coleman R. Green was born on November 18, 1902.¹
     Coleman married Bessie Slade, daughter of James Volney Slade and Alma Slade.¹ Coleman died on April 3, 1968 at age 65.¹ He was buried in Tyner Cemetery at Clear Branch Church, Lamar County, Mississippi.¹

     Edward Martin Stone was born on March 3, 1869.¹
     Edward married Lena Slade, daughter of Joseph Thomas Slade and Lena Ladner, in March, 1903.¹ Edward died in 1941¹ and was buried in Tyner Cemetery at Clear Branch Church, Lamar County, Mississippi.²

     Thaniel L. Bounds was born on November 3, 1880.¹
     Thaniel married Lena Slade, daughter of Joseph Thomas Slade and Lena Ladner, on April 6, 1911.^1,2 Thaniel L. Bounds was buried in Brooklyn Cemetery, Forrest County, Mississippi.¹

     Minnie Irene Slade was born on October 26, 1912 in Mississippi.¹ She was the daughter of William Ira Slade and Neallie Dora Penton.¹
     Minnie married John Currie Holliday.² Minnie died on July 12, 1991 at age 78.¹ She was buried in Poplarville Cemetery, Pearl River County, Mississippi.¹

     Jerusha married second Hugh R. Bond circa 1901.¹ Jerusha died in 1954 in Stone County, Mississippi.

     Nathan G. Slade was born circa 1899 in Mississippi.¹ He was the son of George Slade and Jerusha Ladner.¹
     Nathan married Hattie Wheat, daughter of John Berry Wheat and Clyde Fornea.² Nathan G. Slade was living in 1925 in Gulfport, Mississippi; at 2321 26th Street. Nathan worked for Gulfport Ice & Coal Company.³ He was living in 1927 in Gulfport, Mississippi; 3609 19th Avenue.⁴ He was living in 1931 in Gulfport, Harrison County, Mississippi; at 3309 14th Street.⁵
