The Packers were undefeated in 1928 and won the South Georgia Championship.⁴

     William Joshua Slade married Louise Margaret Davenport, daughter of Edwin F. Davenport and Louise Victoria Bolet, on November 15, 1911 in Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas.² William Joshua Slade was registered for the military draft in World War I on June 5, 1917 in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois, living at 4652 Hazel Avenue.³ He was registered for World War 2 draft in 1942 while living in Chicago, Illinois, at 4136 N.      Paul married Sarah Bruns Wells, daughter of Thomas S. Wells and Margaret Ann Huggins, circa 1914.⁴ Paul Hill Slade was registered for the military draft in World War I on June 5, 1917 in Cordele, Crisp County, Georgia, Dependents listed: mother, wife and one child.³ He was electrician with Cordele Electric Company. in June, 1917.³ He was an electrician with the Electrical Company. He was listed as an electrician with the rail road. Paul died on December 23, 1969 in Savannah, Chatham County, Georgia, at age 77.^5,6 He was buried in Bonaventure Cemetery, Savannah, Chatham County, Georgia.⁶

     Phil F. Slade was born on February 12, 1883 in Texas.² He was the son of Thomas Jefferson Slade and Nancy Mathis.¹ Phil F.      Joshua Davis Slade was born on June 7, 1825.¹ He was the son of Harris Slade and Elizabeth A. Davis¹ and died on July 29, 1832 in Talbot County, Georgia, at age 7.¹
