     J. C. Owen was born on January 5, 1870 in Arkansas both of his parents were born in Alabama.2,1
     J. C. Owen married Elizabeth "Lizzie" Slade, daughter of William Little Slade and Florence Mary Burke, on November 15, 1899 in Union County, Arkansas.3
     After Lizzie died in 1902, J. C. married second Lula Eugenia Murphy on March 20, 1907 in Arkansas.4 J. died on August 27, 1908 at age 38.1 He was buried in Champagnolle Cemetery, El Dorado, Union County, Arkansas.1
