     Joe married Ira Rogers on July 16, 1921.^3,2 Joe Smith Slade resided in El Dorado, Arkansas, in 1982. Joe died on December 30, 1992 in El Dorado, Arkansas, at age 92.⁴

      Martha Kathleen Slade was born on October 23, 1903 in El Dorado, Union County, Arkansas. She was the daughter of Gideon Edgar Slade and Martha Matilda Brown.
     Martha married James Wiggins Smith on August 3, 1929.¹ Martha Kathleen Slade resided in El Dorado, Arkansas, in 1982.² Martha died on March 2, 1992 in Fredericksburg, Spotsylvania County, Virginia, at age 88.³

     Warner Brown Slade was born on June 8, 1906 in El Dorado, Union County, Arkansas.¹ He was the son of Gideon Edgar Slade and Martha Matilda Brown.
     Warner married Irene Rowe.¹ Warner died on July 8, 1992 in Kilgore, Gregg County, Texas, at age 86.² He was buried in Arlington Cemetery, El Dorado, Union County, Arkansas.³

     Gordon Keith Slade was born on May 15, 1907 in El Dorado, Union County, Arkansas.^1,2 He was the son of Gideon Edgar Slade and Martha Matilda Brown.
     Gordon married Willie Cecil Gray, daughter of William Gray and Susie Ward, in 1928.¹ Gordon Keith Slade resided in New Braunfels, Comal County, Texas, in 1982. Gordon died on March 12, 1984 at age 76² and was buried in Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park, New Braunfels, Guadalupe County, Texas.³ His obituary in the El Dorado News Times, Wednesday, March 14, 1984 read:
     Gordon K. Slade, 76, of New Braunfels, Texas, died Monday in a New Braunfels hospital. He was a retired automotive salesman, a veteran of World War II, and a member of the First Baptist Church of New Braunfels. Survivors include his wife, Willie C. (G.) Slade of new Braunfels; three daughters, Merle Wendall of New Braunfels, Majorie S. Graham of Sacramento, Calif., Ardth Marks of Pine Bluff; three sons, Gordon W. Slade of Tom Ball, Texas, Dale Slade of New Braunfels, Gary Slade of Boyertown, Penn; two sisters, Mrs. Geraline Bernard and Mrs. Kathleen Smith both of El Dorado, two brothers, Joe Slade of El Dorado and Warner Brown Slade of Kilgore, Texas; 14 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park in New Braunfels, Texas, with the Rev. Bill Arnold officiating, under the direction of Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home of New Braunfels.

     Florence Geraldine Slade went by Geraldine. She was born on February 5, 1910 in El Dorado, Union County, Arkansas.¹ She was the daughter of Gideon Edgar Slade and Martha Matilda Brown.
     Florence married Paul Tinsley Bernard.² Florence Geraldine Slade (an unknown value.)² Florence died on November 5, 1988 at age 78.² Her obituary in the El Dorado News-Times, Monday, November 7, 1988 read as follows:
     Mrs. Geraldine Slade Bernard, 78, 628 N. Washington, died Saturday, Nov. 5, in a local hospital. Mrs. Bernard was born Feb. 5, 1910, in El Dorado, the daughter of Gideon Edgar and Martha Matilda Brown Slade. She was a retired sales clerk for Samples and M. M. Cohn, a life-long resident of El Dorado and a member of First Baptist Church. Survivors include two sons, Paul Edgar Bernard of Grand Prairie, Texas, and Gerald Bernard of Ardmore, Okla; one daughter, Mrs. Ruth Visoski of Houston; two brothers, Joe Slade of El Dorado and W. B. Slade of Kilgore, Texas; one sister, Mrs. Kathleen Smith of El Dorado; and four grandchildren. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Young's Chapel with the Rev. Van Evans officiating. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery under the direction of Young's Funeral Directors. The family will be at Mrs. Bernard's residence. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church.

     Antonette Garland Ivy was born on December 14, 1858 in Union County, Arkansas, Her father was born Alabama and her mother in Arkansas.¹
     Antonette married Mr. Cabaniss circa 1880.²
     Antonette married second William Little Slade, son of Joseph H. Slade and Elizabeth M. Dumas, on October 15, 1899 in Arkansas.³ Census excerp. She applied for civil war widows pension on August 12, 1916 and received $ 50. This was apparently based upon military service by her first husband.⁴ She applied for a second pension and gave the birth & death for William Little Slade.⁴ In February, 1932 Antonette Garland Ivy resided in Strong, Union County, Arkansas, with Mrs. H. F. Cabaniss.⁴ Antonette died on September 13, 1937 in Arkansas at age 78.⁴ She was buried in Teel Cemetery, Union County, Arkansas.⁴

     Ivy Lee Slade was born on March 9, 1901 in Union County, Arkansas.² He was the son of William Little Slade and Antonette Garland Ivy.
     Ivy married Cleta Mae Hilton on November 14, 1920.³ Ivy died on December 30, 1971 in Beaumont, Orange County, Texas, at age 70.² He was buried in Forest Lawn Cemetery, West Orange, Orange County, Texas.²

     Ethel Gertrude Slade was born on December 12, 1888 in Union County, Arkansas.^2,1 She was the daughter of William Little Slade and Florence Mary Burke.
     Ethel married Whitman Bunion Parker, son of Levi Parker and Emma D. [?], in 1913.³ Ethel died on September 9, 1934 at age 45.¹

     Hannah Elizabeth Slade was born on October 22, 1838 in Washington County, Georgia.^1,2 She was the daughter of William Slade and Elephair Humphrie Fish.
     Hannah married William Joiner Gallemore, son of William John Gallemore and Rebecca Joiner, on November 18, 1855 in Georgia.³ William apparently died before 1870, as that census lists Hannah as a widow, the value of her real estate was $5,500 and personal $500.⁴

     William F. Slade was born in 1832 in Washington County, Georgia.¹ He was the son of William Slade and Elephair Humphrie Fish. William F. Slade was New Tag in 1833 in Georgia.^2,3
     William married Catherine Brantley, daughter of Jeptha Brantley and Zilpha Boatright, on September 9, 1857 in Georgia by Daniel J Mynick, minister.^4,5 The census recorded: William F. Slade 28, merchant, real estate value $1,300 , personal property $5,000; Catherine M 20; wife, William 1 month, son; John R. Haynes 20, clerk; Mary A.F. Slade 19, sister.
     William served in the Seventh Battallion of the Confederate Georgia Cavalry [State Guards] during the Civil War.⁶ His wife Catharine died about 1868.⁷
     William married second Dorothy A. Smith on February 14, 1870 in Georgia.^8,9 William apparently died prior to 1900 as his wife Dollie was listed as a widow in that census.²

     Simon D Slade was born on August 20, 1836 in Washington County, Georgia.¹ He was the son of William Slade and Elephair Humphrie Fish. Simon D Slade was New Tag in August, 1837 in Georgia.^2,3,4
     Simon married first Ann M. Adams on May 14, 1859 in Milledgeville, Hancock County, Georgia.^5,6 While residing in Hancock County, Georgia, he enlisted into E Company, 15th Georgia Infantry as a private.⁷
     Simon married second Lanie Blount on May 4, 1890.^8,9 Simon died on February 16, 1902 at age 65.¹ He was buried in Powell Family Cemetery, Washington County, Georgia, The tombstone inscription reads: "1st Lt. Simon D. Slade, Adjt 2 GA, Inf, CSA.¹⁰

     Samuel L. Slade was born in 1834 in Washington County, Georgia.¹ He was the son of William Slade and Elephair Humphrie Fish. He enlisted into E Company, 1st Volunteers Inf (Georgia) on May 19 1861and was mustered out on Mar 18 1862 at Augusta, Georgia. He re-enlisted into 12th Bttn L A (Georgia) on May 1 1862 and was promoted to 4th Sergt (Full, Vol) (date not indicated). He was wounded on Jul 9 1864 at Monocacy, Maryland.² Samuel died on July 10, 1874 of wounds while serving in 12th Bttn L A (Georgia.)²

     Harris W. Slade was born in 1840 in Washington County, Georgia.¹ He was the son of William Slade and Elephair Humphrie Fish. Harris died in August, 1850 and was listed in the 1850 Mortality schedule for Washington Co, GA.²

     John Long Slade was born on January 25, 1844 in Washington County, Georgia.¹ He was the son of William Slade and Elephair Humphrie Fish. John died on July 1, 1858 in Georgia at age 14.¹ He was buried in Slade Cemetery, Washington County, Georgia.² His obituary read as follows:

      John Long Slade died 1 July 1858 at residence of Thomas J. Adams in Washington County, youngest son of Mrs. Elephair Slade, age 14 yrs. 5 mos. 5 days.¹

     Louisa Slade was born.¹ She was the daughter of William Slade and Elephair Humphrie Fish and died before September 2, 1845 in Washington County, Georgia.^1,2

     Sarah Caroline Gardner was born on December 17, 1872 in Spalding County, Georgia.^1,2,3 She was the daughter of William Zedrick Gardner and Caroline Myrtice Cauthen.⁴ Sarah Caroline Gardner went by the name Sallie.⁴
     Sarah married Joseph Warren Slade, son of William Harrison Slade and Prudence Emily Brooks, on January 29, 1890 in Georgia. Sarah died on May 25, 1964 at age 91.^4,1 She was buried in Oak Hill Cemetery, Griffin, Spalding County, Georgia. In the old section.⁴

     Mamie Louise Slade was born on January 12, 1892 in Spalding County, Georgia.^1,2 She was the daughter of Joseph Warren Slade and Sarah Caroline Gardner.
     Mamie married Richard Moss Mitchell on October 27, 1915.³ In 1931, Mamie had possession of the Simon Slade family bible.^3,4 Mamie Louise Slade said in letter to Helen Prescott, dated October 10, 1931 from Texas, that she had complete record of one of her grandfather's brothers family. This would be one of Simon Slade's sons.⁴ Mamie Louise Slade resided in 622 West Poplar, Griffin, Spalding County, Georgia.³ Mamie died on May 3, 1979 at age 87. She (an unknown value.)⁵

     Carrie Belle Slade was born on August 20, 1893 in Spalding County, Georgia.¹ She was the daughter of Joseph Warren Slade and Sarah Caroline Gardner.
     Carrie married John Robert Mott on April 30, 1920.² Carrie died on March 22, 1971 in Griffin, Spalding County, Georgia, at age 77. She was buried in Oak Hill Cemetery, Griffin, Spalding County, Georgia.

     Imogene Clifford Slade was born on January 23, 1896 in Spalding County, Georgia.¹ She was the daughter of Joseph Warren Slade and Sarah Caroline Gardner.
     Imogene married William Francis Forster on October 31, 1923. In 1950 Mrs. William Francis Forster resided in Greensboro, Guiliford County, North Carolin.² Imogene died on December 24, 1964 at age 68.¹

     Andrew Jackson Slade was born on January 11, 1900 in Spalding County, Georgia.¹ He was the son of Joseph Warren Slade and Sarah Caroline Gardner.
     Andrew married first Frances Duran Koby on July 27, 1924 in Birmingham, Jefferson County, Alabama.²

     Andrew married third Evelyn Williams.⁴ Andrew died on November 15, 1962 at age 62.⁵ He was buried in Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Panama City, Bay County, Florida.⁶

     Sara Virginia Slade was born on April 23, 1910 in Spalding County, Georgia.^1,2 She was the daughter of Joseph Warren Slade and Sarah Caroline Gardner.
     Sara married James Frank Johnson on March 20, 1947.¹ Sara died on September 20, 1997 in Charleston, Charleston County, South Carolina, at age 87.³

     Joseph Warren Slade Jr was born on April 9, 1912 in Spalding County, Georgia.¹ He was the son of Joseph Warren Slade and Sarah Caroline Gardner.
     Joseph married Nellie Mae Huffman on July 18, 1934 in Hampton, Henry County, Georgia.² Joseph died on January 18, 1964 at age 51.¹

     Nellie married first Joseph Warren Slade Jr, son of Joseph Warren Slade and Sarah Caroline Gardner, on July 18, 1934 in Hampton, Henry County, Georgia.²
     Nellie married second George Harrison Slade, son of George Washington Slade and Martha Anne Gardner.^2,3 Nellie died in February, 1984 in Tallahassee, Leon County, Florida, at age 75.¹ She was buried in Meadowood Memorial Park, Tallahassee, Leon County, Florida.³

     Martha Anne Gardner went by the name of Mattie.² She was New Tag in October, 1879 in Spalding County, Georgia.^3,4 She was born on January 12, 1880 in Georgia.⁵ She was the daughter of William Zedrick Gardner and Caroline Myrtice Cauthen.
     Martha married George Washington Slade, son of William Harrison Slade and Prudence Emily Brooks, in 1899. Martha Anne Gardner was living in December, 1931 in Atlanta, Fulton County, Georgia.⁶ According to the will of W. Z. Gardner, Mattie Gardner Slade married a Mr. Miller sometime after her husband George W. Slade died.⁷ Martha died on October 15, 1959 at age 79 and was buried in Midway UM Church Cemetery, Griffin, Spalding County, Georgia.⁵

     William Edward Slade was born on September 26, 1899 in Spalding County, Georgia.^1,2 He was the son of George Washington Slade and Martha Anne Gardner. William died on October 24, 1899 and was buried in Midway UM Church Cemetery, Griffin, Spalding County, Georgia.²

     Joseph Wells Slade was born on March 14, 1901 in Georgia.² He was the son of George Washington Slade and Martha Anne Gardner.
     Joseph married Mary Elizabeth Campbell.¹ Joseph died on May 2, 1963 in Glendale, Los Angeles County, California, at age 62.^2,1 He was buried in Los Angeles County, California.¹
