     John Doyle Slade often went by the name Doyle. He was New Tag in 1915 in Georgia.² He was born on October 3, 1915 in Ellerslie, Harris County, Georgia.^1,2 He was the son of John Gordon Slade and Mary Alma Barfield.³ John died circa 1990 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania.¹

     Helen Irene Slade was born on July 27, 1920 in Hamilton, Harris County, Georgia.^2,1 She was the daughter of John Gordon Slade and Mary Alma Barfield.³
     Helen married Tony Lester Reynolds on January 2, 1942 in Rising Fawn, Dade County, Georgia.¹ Helen died on November 27, 2016 in Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, at age 96.⁴ She was buried in Crestwood Memorial Cemetery, Gadsden, Etowah County, Alabama.⁴

     Evelyn Bright Slade was born circa 1924 in Perry, Houston County, Georgia.^2,1 She was the daughter of John Gordon Slade and Mary Alma Barfield.³
     Evelyn married Orville Alford, son of Walter C Alford, circa 1944.¹ Evelyn died in 2007.¹

     Paul Cochran was born on April 18, 1901 in Georgia.¹ He was the son of William T Cochran and Queen E [?].² He was recorded in 1930 census as S. Paul Cochran.
     Paul married Lucy Holland Slade, daughter of Samuel Simon Slade and Martha Ann Storey.¹ They were living in the house on Collier Street. Paul was using the tractor to till the yard by the side of their house and the tractor tilted over and killed Paul. Everyone in town was upset over this freak accident.³ Paul died on May 26, 1953 in Meansville, Pike County, Georgia, at age 52.¹ He was buried in Fincher Memorial Cemetery, Meansville, Pike County, Georgia.¹

     William Edward Powell was born in May, 1858 in Georgia.²
     William married Minnie Olinza Slade, daughter of James Madison Slade and Pelatiah Winifred Vaughn, on January 25, 1883.³ William died on July 11, 1941 at age 83⁴ and was buried in Oak Hill Cemetery, Griffin, Spalding County, Georgia.⁴

     J. Z. Slade was born on December 15, 1890 in Spalding County, Georgia.² She was the daughter of Joseph Warren Slade and Sarah Caroline Gardner. J. died on May 21, 1891² and was buried in Midway UM Church Cemetery, Griffin, Spalding County, Georgia, in a lot with her Aunt and Uncle, George and Mattie Slade.^2,3

     Ernest Rolf Watkins was born in 1897 in Georgia as were both of his parents.²
     Ernest married Mary Myrtice Slade, daughter of George Washington Slade and Martha Anne Gardner.¹

     Joy Brenda LaRue was born on November 16, 1944 in Jamestown, Tennessee.^1,2
     Joy married John Thomas Slade, son of Zean Fletcher Slade and Lucy C. Turner.¹ Joy died on December 11, 2017 at age 73.² She was buried in Marshallville Cemetery, Macon County, Georgia.² Her obituary read as follows:

      Joy Brenda Slade, age 73, of McDonough, died Monday, December 11, 2017. She was born in Jamestown, TN to the late William Junior and Dora Novella Young LaRue. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Steve LaRue and sister, Judy Tolley.

Joy, also known fondly as “G”, was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She devoted her life to her family and friends and, most importantly, to her Savior, Jesus Christ. She will always be remembered as someone who spent her life loving and caring for others.

Mrs. Slade is survived by her husband, John Thomas Slade; son, John Slade, of Apache Junction AZ; daughter, Missy Adams, of McDonough; grandchildren, Slade, Lindsey, Camille, Olivia, Luke, and Harper; brothers, Don LaRue, of McDonough and Phillip LaRue, of Clarkrange, TN.

Funeral Services will be held at 6:00 PM on Thursday, December 14, 2017 at Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors with Rev. Glenn Anderson and Rev. Rick Statham officiating. Interment will be at Marshallville City Cemetery, Marshallville, GA at 12:00 Noon on Friday, December 15, 2017.²
