     Orpha Glee Busby was born on November 9, 1912 in Kansas.^1,2 She was the daughter of Charles E. Busby and June McDonald.¹
     Orpha married William Aaron Slade, son of Louis Aaron Slade and Anna Skarbnik, on January 2, 1937 in Los Angeles, Los Angeles County, California.¹ Orpha died on February 22, 2000 in Fremont, Alameda County, California, at age 87.²

     Donna May Bryant was born on March 8, 1936.¹
     Donna married Kenneth de Waine Slade, son of George Henry Slade and Edith Loretta Teague, on November 16, 1952 in Iowa City, Johnson County, Iowa.^2,1 Donna died on March 8, 2016 at age 80.¹ She was buried in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Iowa City, Johnson County, Iowa.¹

     Stephen D. Slade was born on July 5, 1953 in Iowa City, Johnson County, Iowa.¹ He was the son of Kenneth de Waine Slade and Donna May Bryant.¹
     Stephen married Rita [?].¹ Stephen died on May 17, 2001 at age 47.¹ He was buried in Oak Hill Cemetery, Coralville, Johnson County, Iowa.¹ His obituary read as follows:

      Stephen D. Slade, 47, of 617 Eighth Ave., died Thursday, May 17, 2001, in Mercy Iowa City after a sudden illness. Services: 10 a.m. Monday, St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Iowa City, by the Rev. Michael Phillips. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service, Iowa City, where a parish vigil service will be held at 5 p.m. Burial: Oak Hill Cemetery, Coralville.Survivors include his wife, Rita; two children, Sarah Slade and Brian Slade, both of Coralville; his mother, Donna Slade of Coralville; and a brother, Phil Slade of Iowa City.Also surviving are 12 nieces and nephews.His father and a brother, Kenny Don Slade, preceded him in death.Memorials may be directed to The Stephen D. Slade Memorial Fund.Steve was born July 5, 1953, in Iowa City, the son of Kenneth and Donna Bryant Slade. He graduated from University High School in 1972 and attended Kirkwood Community College. He was united in marriage to Rita Roe on May 27, 1978, at St. Wenceslaus in Iowa City. As a young man and until 1982, Steve worked for Slade Brothers Roofing. He then worked for 18 years at the University of Iowa Physical Plant.

     Dennis Slade was born circa 1969.¹ He was the son of Sam Slade and Dorothy V. Morrison.¹ Dennis died on January 28, 2015 in LaGrange, Troup County, Georgia.¹ He was buried in Johnson Memorial Gardens, Valley, Chambers County, Alabama.²

     Caroline's name on her marriage liscense appeared as Cunigundi W Hoffman, but all other documents show Caroline.² Caroline Hoffman was born on January 15, 1845 in Bavaria.^3,4
     Caroline married Martin Slade on January 5, 1869.^1,2 Caroline died on April 12, 1912 at age 67.³ She was buried in Greenbrier Cemetery, Robertson County, Tennessee, Caroline's tombstone has Anna Slade.³

     John Slate was born circa 1869 in Ohio.² He was the son of Martin Slade and Caroline Hoffman.²
     John married Mattie Massie, daughter of John Massie.³

     George Slate was born on October 23, 1870 in Greene County, Ohio.^2,3 He was the son of Martin Slade and Caroline Hoffman.¹ George died on March 6, 1949 at age 78.³ He was buried in Greenbrier Cemetery, Robertson County, Tennessee.³

     Samuel Slate was born on April 22, 1873 in Greene County, Ohio.² He was the son of Martin Slade and Caroline Hoffman.¹ He was recorded as Simon in 1900 census.² Samuel Slate was registered for the military draft in World War I on September 12, 1918 in Springfield, Robertson County, Tennessee.³ Samuel died on March 16, 1920 at age 46.⁴ He was buried in Greenbrier Cemetery, Robertson County, Tennessee.⁴

     Katherine Slate was known as Katie. She was born on August 23, 1876 in Miami Twp, Greene County, Ohio.^2,3 She was the daughter of Martin Slade and Caroline Hoffman.¹
     Katherine married Ernest Carl Derseweh.^4,5 Katherine died on November 10, 1958 at age 82.⁵ She was buried in Greenbrier Cemetery, Robertson County, Tennessee.⁵

     Edward Adam Slate was born on April 26, 1883 in Greene County, Ohio.^2,1 He was the son of Martin Slade and Caroline Hoffman.² Edward died on May 20, 1949 in Nashville, Davidson County, Tennessee, at age 66.¹ He was buried in Greenbrier Cemetery, Robertson County, Tennessee.¹
