William Bonner Slade was born on October 3, 1859 in Columbus, Muscogee, Georgia.1,2 He was the son of James Jeremiah Slade and Leila Birchett Bonner.3 William Bonner Slade was New Tag in 1862 in Georgia.4 He attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and became a member of the Dialectic Society in 1877. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1880 and later earned a law degree. He was admitted into the North Carolina Society of the Cincinnati in 1900.5,6
William married Mary Byrnes Brown, daughter of John Brown, on November 19, 1884 in Columbus, Georgia.7,2 William Bonner Slade was Bank President.7 They were living at 1344 Second Avenue. William died on August 5, 1937 at age 77.8 He was buried in Linwood Historic Cemetery, Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia.9
