     Mary Ellen Chavarry was born on April 14, 1937 in Gardiner, Kennebec County, Maine,², the daughter of Jeannette Dorothy (Pushard) & Frank Juan Chavarry.²
     Mary married Edson Slade, son of Charles Henry Slade and Jessie Mable Fiege, on August 28, 1964 in North Adams, Berkshire County, Massachusetts.^1,3,2 Mary was widowed when her husband, Edson, died on September 17, 1983 in Stamford, Bennington County, Vermont, at age 70.¹ Mary died on January 3, 2004 in North Adams, Massachusetts, at age 66² and was buried in Millard Cemetery, Stamford, Bennington County, Vermont.²

     Lillie Mae Caraway was born on April 8, 1920 in Florence Twp, Pamlico County, North Carolina.¹
     Lillie married Ralston Lee Slade, son of Benjamin Abner Slade and Mary S. Dixon, on July 31, 1937 Pamlico County, North Carolina.¹ Lillie died on November 20, 1979 in Florence Twp, North Carolina, at age 59.¹ She was buried in Concord Christian Church Cemetey, Pamlico County, North Carolina.¹

     Minnie Lee Caraway was born on April 29, 1922 in Florence Twp, Pamlico County, North Carolina.¹
     Minnie married Hampton Walter Slade Sr., son of Benjamin Abner Slade and Mary S. Dixon, on April 11, 1942 in Stonewall, Pamlico County, North Carolina.¹ Minnie died on November 1, 2005 at age 83.¹ She was buried in Concord Christian Church Cemetey, Pamlico County, North Carolina.¹

     Susan Whitehurst Carraway was born on August 3, 1849 in Adam's Creek, Craven County, North Carolina.¹
     Susan married John Frank Slade Jr., son of John Frank Slade and Rutha Riggs, on January 24, 1869 in Florence Twp, Pamlico County, North Carolina, Abner Slade's home.¹ Susan died on December 8, 1940 in Whortonsville, Pamlico County, North Carolina, at age 91.¹ She was buried in Concord Christian Church Cemetey, Pamlico County, North Carolina.¹

     Christopher Anthony Slade was born on April 22, 1965 in Plainville, Hartford County, Connecticut.¹ He was the son of Robert G. Slade and Anita K. Pons.¹
     Christopher married Margaret [?].¹ Christopher died on March 1, 2008 at age 42¹ and was buried in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Plainville, Hartford County, Connecticut.¹

     Clarrisa Ann Daniels was born on May 20, 1858 in Springs Creek, Beaufort County, North Carolina.¹
     Clarrisa married Joseph L. Slade, son of John Frank Slade Jr. and Susan Whitehurst Carraway, on June 23, 1901 At the home of Charles Lewis', Florence, Pamlico County, North Carolina.¹ Clarrisa died on July 21, 1936 in Morehead City, Carteret County, North Carolina, at age 78.¹ She was buried in Bayview Cemetery, Morehead City, Carteret County, North Carolina.¹

     Emily Marie Day was born on October 22, 1917 in Florence Twp, Pamlico County, North Carolina.¹ She was the daughter of Ida Caraway and Mart Day.²
     Emily married Harry Lee Slade, son of Francis DeWitt Slade Sr. and Mollie B. Martin, on July 1, 1933 Bayboro, Pamlico County, North Carolina.¹ They never had any children.¹ Emily died on March 26, 2009 in Craven County, North Carolina, at age 91.² Her obituary read as follows:

     

     Emily Day Slade, age 91, of the Florence community, died on March 26, 2009, at Craven Regional Medical Center. Her death was the result of a traffic accident on March 12, 2009, in which she was a victim of a head-on collision.
     She was preceded in death by her husband of more than 50 years, Harry L. Slade, her parents, Mart and Ida Caraway Day, and her sister, Beulah Day Williams.
     She was the oldest living member of Concord Christian Church, where she was an active member who attended services faithfully. She was an avid gardener of both vegetables and flowers. She had already begun her spring vegetable garden this year. She was a generous person who loved to share the products of her gardening. She loved quilting, crocheting, knitting, and sewing. Her hand work graces the homes of many people. She enjoyed her daily "power" walk each morning including the morning of the traffic accident. She was a remarkable, active person for someone her age.
     She is survived by her sister, Mary Day Moore. In addition, she is survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, and great-great-nephews, all of whom she adored.
     Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 29, at Concord Christian Church with Dr. Robert B. Cayton officiating. Burial will follow at Concord Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the Concord Christian Church Fellowship Building immediately after the services. Arrangements by Bryant Funeral Home & Cremations, Alliance.²

     Mary S. Dixon was known as Mamie and also called Nannie. She was born on April 5, 1875 in Goose Creek, Pamlico County, North Carolina.¹
     Mary married Benjamin Abner Slade, son of John Frank Slade Jr. and Susan Whitehurst Carraway, on March 4, 1900 At the home of John Dowty, Pamlico County, North Carolina.¹¹ Mary died on June 4, 1922 in Florence Twp, Pamlico County, North Carolina, at age 47.¹ She was buried in Concord Christian Church Cemetey, Pamlico County, North Carolina.¹

     Annie Dowdy was born on December 19, 1912 in Whortonsville, Pamlico County, North Carolina.¹
     Annie married McDonald Slade, son of Francis DeWitt Slade Sr. and Mollie B. Martin, on December 27, 1930 Alliance, Pamlico County, North Carolina.¹ Annie died on March 29, 1971 in Merritt, Pamlico County, North Carolina, at age 58.¹ She was buried in Bethel Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery, Whortonsville, Pamlico County, North Carolina.¹

     Laura Lucretia Flowers was born on September 20, 1909 in Pamlico County, North Carolina.¹
     Laura married William Jennings Slade, son of Ulysses Charlie Slade and Amanda Leary, on February 2, 1927 Bayboro, Pamlico County, North Carolina.¹ Laura died on August 18, 1991 at age 81.¹

     George William Ford was born on July 18, 1942 in North Carolina.¹
     George married Joan Amanda Slade, daughter of Mahugh Slade and Pearl Mae Willis. George William Ford died on May 19, 1994 in a car accident near Grantsboro, North Carolina at age 51.¹ He was buried in Bethel Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery, Whortonsville, Pamlico County, North Carolina.¹
