     William Russell Slade was born on January 13, 1901 in Elmwood, Mason County, West Virginia.^1,2 He was the son of James Samuel Slade and Benina Jones.³

     William Russell Slade registered for the draft for World War II in 1942, while living at Capehart, West Virginia.¹ William died on July 10, 1991 in Columbus, Franklin County, Ohio, at age 90.²

     Robert Slade was born circa 1792 likely in England.¹ He was the son of Robert Slade and Elizabeth Beard.¹ He was a member of the Church of England, Anglican.²
     Robert married Susan Snook on September 11, 1815 in Pilton, England.¹ Robert Slade immigrated circa 1831 to Canada. His family followed the following year aboard the Arthburty Castle.¹ The family settled in in Chatham, Kent County, Ontario, Canada.¹ Robert died on November 20, 1875 in Chatham, Ontario.

     Robert Edgar Slade was born circa 1843 in Ontario, Canada.³ He was the son of Edgar Slade and Elizabeth Sellars.¹
     Robert married Alice Pearl Charlton, daughter of James Charlton and Ellen Hill, on November 1, 1911 in Kent County, Ontario, Canada, at Christ Church Rectoy.² Robert died on April 11, 1920 in Chatham, Kent County, Ontario, Canada.⁴

     James Thomas Slade was born on June 23, 1923 in Macon County, Illinois.¹ He was the son of Joseph Lawrence Slade and Marie Stephens.² He began serving his country in the Navy at the young age of 18. Jim is a Pearl Harbor survivor and life member of Pearl Harbor Survivors Association and was aboard the USS Raleigh when it was sunk during the attack on Pearl Harbor. He later witnessed the signing of the peace treaty at the end of World War II. He was commissioned as a lieutenant when he joined the Army at the beginning of the Korean War. He was decorated with numerous military awards.³
     James married Martha "Mickey" Redmon, daughter of Roscoe W. Redmon and Elva [?], on April 23, 1944 in Newport, Newport County, Rhode Island,³, the daughter of Elva Rowe & Roscoe W Redmon.⁴
     James married second Beatrice Harner, daughter of Harold Harner, on May 27, 1998 in Decatur, Macon County, Illinois.³ James died on July 8, 2003 at age 80.^1,3 He was buried in Fairlawn Cemetery, Decatur, Macon County, Illinois.⁵ His obituary read as follows:

      DECATUR - James Thomas Slade, 80, of Decatur died 1:32 p.m. Tuesday (July 8, 2003) in St. Mary's Hospital.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Dawson & Wikoff West Wood Street Funeral Home with visitation 5 to 7 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery with military rites by the Macon County Honor Guard. Memorials: American Cancer Society or St. John's Hospice Care.
Jim was born June 23, 1923, in Decatur, the son of Joe L. and Marie Slade. He retired as captain and acting chief of police from the Decatur Police Department. He was a graduate of the University of Louisville Southern Police Institute. He was an active lifetime member of the Police Benevolent Association. He was a Realtor in Decatur for many years and a Life Time Million Dollar Club member. He worked several years for Rambo Pharmacy as an apprentice pharmacist after receiving his license in 1959. He was part of a group that founded the first Armored Service in Decatur, which was eventually bought out by Brinks.

Slade III and wife Eileen of Decatur; brother, David R. and wife Sharon of Decatur; sister, Nancy Murphy and husband James J. of Cambridge, N.Y; granddaughters, Leslie Pearce and husband Lee of Decatur; Nancy McVey and husband Michael of Decatur; nephews, David R. Jr. and wife Sherri of Decatur; Joel and wife Melody of Marble Falls, Texas; Tim and wife Lori of Oreana; Chris Slade; nieces, Julie M. Mendenhall and husband Todd of Decatur; stepsons, David and Steven Harner of Decatur; stepdaughter, Jeanne Brace of Champaign; stepgrandchildren, Katie and Ben Brace and Dava Askins; great-grandchildren, Jourdan and Jalyn Pearce and Samantha McVey; great-stepgrandchild, Bryanna Smith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife and one brother.

     Julia Ann Sarver was born on January 6, 1879 in Tazewell County, Virginia.² She was the daughter of Crockett H. Sarver and Martha Indiana Slade.¹ She married Boyd Robinette.² Julia died on October 15, 1944 in Bluefield, Mercer County, West Virginia, at age 65.² She was buried in Monte Vista Cemetery, Bluefield, West Virginia.²

     Marguerite Baker was born on December 26, 1921.¹ She was the daughter of Quincy F. Baker and Alice Badger.
     Marguerite married Horace Fraker Slade, son of Eugene Slade and Jane Ann Schermerhorn.¹ She moved to Arlington Virginia about 1952.¹ Marguerite died on January 3, 2010 in Fairfax Hospital, Fairfax County, Virginia, at age 88.¹ She was buried in John Baker Family Cemetery, Ashe County, North Carolina.² Her obituary read as follows:

     George Morton Slade was born on July 4, 1894 in Dundee, Kane County, Illinois.² He was the son of Clarence Luman Slade and Ada L. Morton.^3,4,5
     George married Lucile Ludlow, daughter of G. H. Ludlow and Minnie Connine, on September 1, 1915 in Albion, Calhoun County, Michigan.^1,6 George Morton Slade was registered for the military draft in World War I on June 7, 1917 in Albion, Michigan.²
