     Hatsel Freeman Slade was born in February, 1859 in Pike County, Illinois.¹ He was the son of William Jennings Slade and Mary Jane Pine.³
     Hatsel married Florence Lizzie Potter, daughter of Wright Potter, on April 9, 1884 in Illinois.⁴ Hatsel died in 1930.² He was buried in La Verne Cemetery, Los Angeles County, California.²

     Anna May Slade was born in December, 1889 in Pike County, Illinois.¹ She was the daughter of Elijah W. Slade and Susan Davison.¹
     Anna married John F. Hagey.² Anna died in 1916² and was buried in Baylis Cemetery, Pike County, Illinois.²

     Nellie E. Monroe was born on September 7, 1900 in Hart County, Kentucky.³ She was the daughter of John William Monroe and Laura Ann Amos.³
     Nellie married Stanley Jennings Slade, son of John E. Slade and Katie Mabel Mclaughlin, on April 10, 1918 in Chelan County, Washington.² Nellie died on January 18, 1989 in Pierce County, Washington, at age 88.³ She was buried in Bridgeport Cemetery, Bridgeport, Douglas County, Washington.³

     Doris Marie Slade was born on April 5, 1922 in Douglas County, Washington.² She was the daughter of Stanley Jennings Slade and Nellie E. Monroe.³
     Doris married Scott J. Witt in 1947 in Everett, Washington.² They had children: Colleen, Janet and Greg. Doris died on June 16, 2013 in Pierce County, Washington, at age 91.² She was buried in Saint Lukes Episcopal Columbarium, Tacoma, Pierce County, Washington.¹

     Glen Eugene Slade was born on April 25, 1929 in Mason County, West Virginia.¹ He was the son of William Russell Slade and Belva Juanita Rodgers.¹ Glen died on December 13, 2018 at age 89.² He was buried in Locust Grove Cemetery, Vinton County, Ohio.² His obituary read as follows:

      Glen Eugene Slade, 89, of McArthur, passed away Thursday, Dec. 13, 2018 at Jenkins Care Community in Wellston.
He was born April 25, 1929 in Elmwood, West Virginia, son of the late William Russell and Belva Juanita Rogers Slade. Glen was married to Barbara Ann Gehring Slade, who survives.
He retired from General Motors after 30 years of service, was a member of Locust Grove Church, a member of the Baltimore Masonic Lodge #475 F&AM and a member of the United Auto Workers #969.
He is survived by his sons, William Russell Slade of Groveport and John David Slade of Columbus; daughter, Rosana Lynn (Larry) Bush of Lancaster; step-sons, Michael Eugene Adams of Marengo and James Craig Adams of Marengo; grandchildren, Jamie (Liz) Yost, Alex (Tiffany) Bush, Ryan Slade, Kevin Slade, Priscilla (JD) Mathys, Heather Adams, Bruce Adams, Jason Adams, Kelly Crawford and Tina Lynch; 15 great-grandchildren; brother, Furl (Peggy) Slade of Columbus; and a sister, Dorothy Sargent of Columbus.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepson, Bruce Adams; sister, Hazel Yost; and brother, Buford Slade.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2018 in the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur, with Pastor Bill Barnett and Rev. Jim Taylor officiating. Interment will be in Locust Grove Cemetery, Vinton County. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. with a masonic service being held at 7 p.m.

     Walter Omer Slade was born on May 10, 1892 in Elmwood, Mason County, West Virginia.^2,3 He was the son of James Samuel Slade and Benina Jones.¹ Walter Omer Slade was registered for the military draft in World War I on June 5, 1917 in Mason County, West Virginia.³
     Walter married Belle Barnette.² In 1940, Walter and Belle are living with her brother, Gene Barnette.⁴ Walter Omer Slade was living in 1942 in Rockcastle, Jackson County, West Virginia.² Walter died on June 15, 1970 at age 78.⁵

     Benina Jones was born in July, 1863 in Meigs County, Ohio.² She was the daughter of Mary Ellen Riley and Hiram Jones of Meigs County, Ohio.
     Benina married James Samuel Slade, son of Wilbur Slade and Julia Margaret Taber. Benina Jones was buried in Wolfe Valley Cemetery, Leon, Mason County, West Virginia.³

     Julia Eliza Slade was born in July, 1897 in Mason County, West Virginia.² She was the daughter of James Samuel Slade and Benina Jones.¹ Julia died on February 13, 1933 in West Virginia at age 35.

     Seth Libby was born likely before 1784 in Maine probably.²
     Seth married Mary Duncan Slade, daughter of John Slade and Martha T. Pulliam, on January 21, 1832 in Richmond, Virginia.³ A conflicting date of marriage [Jan 31, 1832] is given in a report published Feb 2, 1832 in the Constitutional Whig newspaper: Married- Last evening (Jan. 31), at the house of Samuel T. Pulliam, by Rev. Penn, Mr. Seth Libby, to Miss Mary Duncan, only daughter of the late John Slade, all of Richmond.⁴ Seth died on October 9, 1832 in Richmond, Henrico County, Virginia.⁵

     Susan H. McCurkin was born circa 1814 in Ohio lines 28-34, hh 240, fam 244.²

Susan married John Wesley Slade, son of John Slade and Martha T. Pulliam, on January 9, 1834 in Randolph County, Illinois.^1,3
     Susan married second Richard Smith circa 1844.²

     Elizabeth Slade was born in June, 1816 in Richmond, Virginia.² She was the daughter of Jonah P. Slade and Maria Lukehard.^2,1
     Elizabeth married Robert Linn in 1836. Sued Samuel T. Pullium. Elizabeth died on May 18, 1839 in St. Clair County, Illinois, at age 22.^2,3

     James Charles Slade was born on December 21, 1906 in Columbia, Marion County, Mississippi.¹ He was the son of Ebenezer Franklin Slade and Margaret Dezelle Carlisle.¹
     James married Helen V. Beall, daughter of Alvie K. Beall, circa 1926.²
     James Charles Slade registered for the draft for World War II in 1943, while living at District of Columbia.¹ James died on January 21, 1971 in Orange County, California, at age 64.³ He was buried in Rose Hills Memorial Park, Whittier, Los Angeles County, California.⁴

     Orra Smith Slade was born on May 21, 1890 in Armourdale, Kansas.^1,2 He was the son of George Milford Slade and Clarabell Harrison.³ Ira, 11, was living in the household of Alice 25 and William H. Harrison 27, b MO, where he was listed as a nephew. Margret L. Wilson 66 bTN, was also living there and listed as mother-in-law.¹ Orra Smith Slade was known as Ira.
     Orra married Louise Sophia Rocklage in 1910 in Missouri.⁴ Orra Smith Slade was registered for the military draft in World War I on June 5, 1917 in Hennrietta, Ray County, Missouri.² Orra died on May 18, 1964 at age 73^5,6 and was buried in Richmond Memory Gardens, Richmond, Ray County, Missouri.⁷
