He was devoted Mets and Raiders fan.
He was predeceased by his wife, Carol Combs Slade; his parents, Percy E. and Catherine Ryan Slade; and his brothers, Alvin and Foster Slade.
Surviving are a son, Sean Slade, Centerburg, Ohio; a daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Dan Harris, Centerburg, Ohio; three brothers, Howard Slade, Freehold Township; Kevin Slade and his wife, Susan, Freehold, and Desmond Slade and his wife, Ingrid, Jackson Township; a sister, Alyce Dziedziech and her husband, Steve, Smithtown, New York; His uncle and aunt, Rodger and Theresa Ryan, San Jose, California; four grandchildren, Tabbitha Hubbard, Robert Hubbard, Jr., Kirstin Hanna, and Taylor Harris; and five great grandchildren, Devon, Dylan, Harper, Adeline and Sawyer.
Visitation will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold, on Thursday 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Marine Corp services will be held at 7:00 p.m. and funeral services will be held at 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Donations in his memory to the Corporal Phillip A. Reynolds Detachment, 50 Waterworks Road, Freehold, NJ 07728 would be appreciated.
