     George Oliver Slade was known as Ollie. He was born on July 16, 1900 in Virginia.^1,2 He was the son of Oliver Thomas Slade and Lula Martin Hogwood.¹
     George married Bernice Baker, daughter of George Henry Baker and Martha Virginia Mason.³ George died on October 23, 1981 in Dinwiddie County, Virginia, at age 81.^2,4 He was buried in Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg, (Independent City), Virginia.⁴

     Adelena Andrews Wells was born on December 14, 1869 in Virginia.^2,1
     Adelena married Paris Emmet Slade, son of Wyatt Slade and Martha Jane Holdsworth, in 1887.^3,1 Adelena died on June 17, 1918 at age 48¹ and was buried in Wakefield UMCh Cemetery, Wakefield, Sussex County, Virginia.^1,4

     Grace Inez Slade was born in December, 1889 in Surry County, Virginia. [tombstone has Dec 2, 1890]^1,2 She was the daughter of Paris Emmet Slade and Adelena Andrews Wells.¹
     Grace married Peter Irby Leadbetter circa 1914.³ Grace died on February 7, 1955 at age 65² and was buried in Wakefield UMCh Cemetery, Wakefield, Sussex County, Virginia.²

     Lillian Gertrude Slade was born on August 16, 1894 in Surry County, Virginia.^1,2 She was the daughter of Paris Emmet Slade and Adelena Andrews Wells.
     Lillian married Bernard Vick Hargrave in Virginia.³ Lillian died on December 12, 1978 in Bladen County, North Carolina, at age 84.¹ She was buried in Wakefield UMCh Cemetery, Wakefield, Sussex County, Virginia.⁴

     Murphy Hedgpeth was born on February 26, 1828 in Virginia.³ Son of Wilburn and Nancy Hedgpeth.³ He was New Tag in January, 1830 in Virginia.¹
     Murphy married Ann Elizabeth Spivey on February 6, 1851 in Southampton County, Virginia.^4,3

     Mary Elizabeth Hedgpeth was born on May 20, 1859 in Virginia.² She was New Tag in March, 1865 in Virginia.¹ She was the daughter of Murphy Hedgpeth and Ann Elizabeth Spivey.^1,3
     Mary married Henry T. Slade, son of John B. Slade and Sarah [?], on October 16, 1880 in Southampton County, Virginia.³ The 1900 census indicates that Mary is a widow, mother of five children, three are living. Mary died on October 21, 1924 in Virginia at age 59.⁴

     Henry Murphy Slade was born in December, 1880 in Virginia.¹ He was the son of Henry T. Slade and Mary Elizabeth Hedgpeth.¹
     Henry married Mattie Lamay Cooper on December 16, 1908 in Smithfield, Isle of Wight County, Virginia.²

     Mary C. Slade was New Tag in February, 1884 in Virginia.¹ She was born on July 29, 1884 in Blackwater District, Prince George County, Virginia.² She was the daughter of Henry T. Slade and Mary Elizabeth Hedgpeth.¹

     Lawrence Slade was born on May 13, 1910 in Cowbridge, Glamorgan, Wales.^1,2,3 He was the son of William Slade Sr. and Mirian Davies.¹
     Lawrence married Ruth C. [?]⁴ Lawrence died in July, 1974 at age 64³ and was buried in McKeesport & Versailles Cemetery, McKeesport, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.⁵

     Anthony Wyatt Slade was born circa 1815 in Bristol, Gloucester, England.¹ He was the son of Edward Walker Slade and Mary Blake. Anthony Wyatt Slade was christened on November 12, 1815 in St Augustine-the-Less, Bristol, Gloucester, England.¹ He was listed as a painter, living in the household of Ira & Sarah Cooke, a Railroad Engineer.²
     Anthony married Julia L. Allyn.³ Anthony Wyatt Slade was a painter, widower, with 8 year old son, Edward.⁴

     Clara Alice Slade was born in 1864 in Cuyahoga County, Ohio.² She was the daughter of Robert Slade and Mary M. Stratton.

     Emery Floyd Slade was born on November 23, 1882 in Crawford County, Wisconsin.^3,4 He was the son of Odell Cummings Slade and Lucy Alvira Mansfield.³ Emery Floyd Slade was New Tag circa 1886 in Wisconsin.¹ Both of his parents were born in Michigan.¹
     Emery married Flossie C. Onstine, daughter of Ira Edger Onstine and Susanna Churchill, circa 1909.³ Emery Floyd Slade was registered for the military draft in World War I on September 12, 1918 in Wisconsin.² Emery died in 1956⁵ and was buried in Montgomeryville Cemetery, Crawford County, Wisconsin.⁵

     Edward W. Slade was born in October, 1853 in Euclid County, Ohio.² He was the son of Robert Slade and Anne Elizabeth Eldredge.
     Edward married Anna E. [?] in 1879.³

     Emma A. Slade was born on March 3, 1874 in Cleveland, Euclid County, Ohio.^2,3 She was the daughter of Robert Slade and Mary M. Stratton.
     Emma married Edwin S. Hazen on May 25, 1889 in Collinwood, Cuyahoga County, Ohio.

     Franklin Slade was born on August 31, 1853 in Cleveland, Euclid County, Ohio. He was the son of Robert Slade and Anne Elizabeth Eldredge. Frank moved to McPherson, Kansas about 1876. He had been trained as a tinsmith and opened a hardward and implement business which he operated for 22 years.²
     Franklin married Isabelle Jane Turner on January 16, 1893 in Grace Church, Hutchinson, Reno County, Kansas, Isabel was a widow, whose first husband was named Campbell.²

Soon after 1900, the family moved to Rialto, California where Franklin engaged in the citus industry, clearing & planting 20 acres located on Willow & Foothill Blvd. In Rialto. He was secretary of the Lytle Creek Water & Impro. C Co. until moving to Redlands, Cal. in 1910. In 1913 he disposed of the cistus interests & in 1914 moved to Los Angeles, Ca. where he resided until 1925 when he and his family moved to Pasadena. Franklin was widowed when his wife, Isabelle, died in 1935.³ Franklin died on February 26, 1938 in Pasadena at age 84. He was buried in San Gabriel Cemetery, Los Angeles County, California.^4,5

     Horatio Nelson Slade was born circa 1828 in England.² He was the son of Edward Walker Slade and Mary Blake. The entire family immigrated from Bristol, England to the United States aboard the Barque Woodman arriving on July 7, 1834. The family included Edward and Mary Slade (ages 42, and 40) and their children Anthony age 18, Clara age 15, Emma age 14, Mary age 13, Robert age 12 and Horatio age 10.³
     Horatio married Elizabeth Cogswell Camp.⁴ Horatio died on August 15, 1882 in Cuyahoga County, Ohio.^5,1 He was buried in East Cleveland Twp Cemetery, Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Ohio.¹

     Mary Slade was born on August 1, 1860 in Cuyahoga County, Ohio.^2,3 She was the daughter of Robert Slade and Mary M. Stratton. Mary died on May 28, 1935 in Euclid, Cuyahoga County, Ohio, at age 74.³

     Mary Blake was born circa 1794 in England.¹

     Nina Beatrice Slade was born on June 9, 1895 in McPherson, Kansas. She was the daughter of Franklin Slade and Isabelle Jane Turner. At the age of four, Nina survived an epidemic of diphtheria which left her blind in one eye and deaf in one ear, here parents decided to move to Rialto, California for the climate. Nina would attend elementary school in Rialto, and when she reached high school age her parents moved to Redlands, California. where she graduated from Redlands High School in 1914. Following graduation Nina & her parents moved to Los Angeles, where Nina attended nursing school at Angelus Hospital, which had been hailed as the finest in L.A. when it was built in 1905. After 3 years Nina received her nursing certificate.
     Nina married Henry Frederick Preston on January 21, 1921. They moved to Pasadena where they raised two children. Nina never practiced nursing, but she always kept her credential current. Nina died on March 28, 1975 in Whittier, Los Angeles County, California, at age 79. She was buried in Rose Hills Memorial Park, Whittier, Los Angeles County, California.²

     ² Albert Robert Becker was born on January 9, 1881 in Missouri or Kansas. [death certificate for Albert Robert Becker erroneously gives his birth date as Jan 9, 1870, age 102. His WWI registration & 1900 census give more reliable date of 1881]^2,3,1 He apparently went by Robert in his youth but in later years went by Albert as his first name.^2,1
     Albert married Mattie Belle Davis.⁴ Albert Robert Becker was registered for the military draft in World War I on September 12, 1918 in Pueblo County, Colorado.⁵ He and Mattie Belle Davis resided in Lime, Pueblo County, Colorado, on September 12, 1918.⁵ Albert died on September 18, 1972 in Howard County, Texas, at age 91.¹ He was buried in Trinity Memorial Park, Big Spring, Howard County, Texas.⁶
