Linda Marlene (Canfield) Slade
Gratefully we remember the life of our beloved Linda Marlene (Canfield) Slade born to John and Marian Canfield on January 23, 1950 in Seattle, Washington and died on June 22, 2017 at Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee, WA. Linda was raised on a small farm in Alderwood Manor until age 12 when the family moved to North Lynnwood. Linda graduated from Meadowdale High School, Lynnwood, WA, in 1968. She worked many years as a legal secretary and paralegal at the Seattle office of the Washington State Attorney General while she studied at night to earn her Juris Doctorate from the University of Puget Sound in 1994. Linda built her own legal practice, the Law Office of Linda Slade, which she began in Seattle and moved to Malaga, Washington when she and Brian built their dream homestead along the Columbia River beneath the Wenatchee foothills.
Linda, Mom, Grams, and Auntie as she was known to many, loved life and lived with great passion for her family, friendships, rousing discourse, robust show tunes, gatherings small and large, and world travel. She infused love in flowers grown, apple pies baked, and costumes sewn. She attended life with great enthusiasm and generosity. Linda volunteered many years at Seattle Children's Hospital. She shared her home, her pantry, her wit, her craftwork and her loving hugs with so many. She treated her family as friends and her friends as family.
