Mr. Slade is survived by his wife, Elaine Slade, a daughter, Julie Slade, son Jonathan Slade, all of Gulfport; a son, Jeremy Slade and wife, Christina of Gainesville, FL; a sister, Valerie Stanton, and brother, Larry Slade, both of Desoto, TX; and his mother, Floydene Lenamond of Desoto, TX. Visitation will be held Friday, October 10, 2008 from 6 until 8 p.m. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, O'Neal Road, Gulfport.      Lawrence married second Beverly Carleen Tucker.3
     Lawrence married third Catherine Zmolik on August 23, 1988.4 Lawrence Dean Slade 1604 Easy St, Seagoville, TX 75159-4520 (972) 287-3215 in 2008. He and Catherine Zmolik were divorced on March 16, 2011.4 Lawrence Dean Slade Monica? & Joey Slade 903-654-1340, called 8-29-2016 to inquire about location of Slade Plantation. Lawrence died on July 2, 2018 in Ennis, Ellis County, Texas, at age 695 and was buried in Palmer Cemetery, Palmer, Ellis County, Texas.5 His obituary read as follows:

      Lawrence “Larry” Dean Slade, 69 of Ennis, passed away Monday, July 2, 2018 at his residence, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on January 21, 1949 in Ennis, Texas.

Larry loved being in his game room playing pool and spending time with his family. He worked as a mechanic and was also a truck driver. He served our country in the United States Army and was in the Vietnam War.

He is survived by his sons, Billy Slade and Joey Slade and his wife, Monica; his sister, Valerie Mitchell Stanton; his grandchildren, Mariah Slade Shortnacy and her husband, Dustin, Joey Slade, Jr., Izacc Slade, and Emery Slade.

Larry recently found out he was going to be a great-grandpa and was very excited.

A graveside service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 6, 2018 at the Palmer Cemetery under the direction of Wayne Boze Funeral Home.

Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, July 5, 2018 at Wayne Boze Funeral Home, Waxahachie.5

Robert married Armistead May Ingram, daughter of Herbert Ingram and Cecil Virginia Faison, on December 4, 1938 in Richmond, Virginia.4 Robert died on April 8, 2000 in Surry County, Virginia, at age 81.5,3 He was buried in Union Church Cemetery, Dendron, Surry County, Virginia.6 His obituary read as follows:

Robert James "Mutt" Slade Jr., 81, of South 18th Avenue, Hopewell, died Saturday, April 8, 2000, at Health South Medical Center, Richmond, after a long illness.

A native of Dendron, he was born on Nov. 13, 1918, the son of the late Robert James Slade Sr. and Edna Whitmore Slade. He had formerly been a Surry County farmer and retired as a truck driver for Franklin Equipment Co. He was a member of Union Congregational Christian Church, Surry County, and had attended Dendron Methodist Church and the Abundant Life Pentecostal Holiness Church in Prince George. He was a charter member of the Blackwater Sportsman's Club in Surry County.

He is survived by his wife, Gayle Hudson Slade; a daughter, Donna Leigh Slade of Surry; four stepsons, Ronnie Ray Broughton of Casper, Wyo., Donnie Earl Broughton of Hopewell, Jerry Olson Broughton of Prince George and Anthony Kell Broughton of Royston, Ga; a sister, Edna Slade Pitts of Goochland; a brother, Kenneth J. Slade of Wakefield; 12 stepgrandchildren; and one stepgreat-granddaughter. He was the brother of the late Mary Slade Price.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 12, at Purviance Funeral Chapel, Wakefield. Burial will be in Union Church Cemetery, Surry County. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday evening.

Memorial donations may be made to the Dendron or Surry volunteer fire departments, or to the building fund of Abundant Life Pentecostal Holiness Church, Prince George.
