Spillinger.¹ He enlisted in the Army as a Private on September 21, 1943 in New York City.² Alan Arthur Slade Jr. was a Sergeant with the 375th Infantry 94th Division and awarded the Purple Heart Medal.³ Alan died on February 26, 1945 in Ayl, Germany, Killed in Action, when his unit attempted to cross the Saar River.⁴ He was buried in Luxembourg American Cemetery, Hamm, Luxembourg.⁴
