     Dr. John Slade was born in 1949 in Atlanta, Fulton County, Georgia.¹ He was the son of John de Roulhac Slade M.D. and Helen Elizabeth Benedict M.D.¹
     John married Frances Fowler.¹ John died on January 29, 2002 in Somerset County, New Jersey.¹ His obituary in the Atlanta Constitution read as follows:

     Dr. John Slade, an expert on the treatment of alcohol, tobacco and drug addiction, and one of America's pioneer advocates for tobacco control, died Tuesday [Jan. 29, 2002] at the age of 52. Dr. Slade suffered a stroke last July.
Born in Atlanta, Georgia in 1949, Dr. Slade was a graduate of the Westminster Schools in Atlanta and a 1969 graduate of Oberlin College. After completing medical school at Emory University in 1974, he did postgraduate work in internal medicine, public health and rheumatology at Rush-Presbyterian Medical Center in Chicago, at the New Jersey Department of Health, as an Epidemic Intelligence Officer for the Centers for Disease Control, and at UMDNJ and St. Peters' Medical Centers in New Brunswick. There he developed a growing interest in addiction medicine and in addressing the devastating health aspects of tobacco addiction.
Dr. Slade, who resided in Skillman, N.J., is survived by his wife, Frances Fowler Slade, choral conductor of Princeton Pro Musica; his parents, Dr. John de R. Slade and Dr. Helen Benedict Slade; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Stephen and Daniela Slade of Atlanta and Michael Slade and Amelia Pryor of San Francisco; and five nieces and nephews.²

     Francis E. Davis was born in March, 1850 in Mississippi.²

     Prentiss married Mary Loucinda Hill in 1897 in Mississippi.³ Prentiss died on May 3, 1914 at age 41¹ and was buried in Boone Cemetery, Lamar County, Mississippi.¹

     Emma Elzara Slade was born on June 11, 1879 in Mississippi.¹ She was the daughter of Franklin E. Slade and Francis E. Davis.¹ Emma died on December 6, 1938 in Mobile, Mobile County, Alabama, at age 59.¹

     Sarah Slade was born in February, 1882 in Mississippi.¹ She was the daughter of Franklin E. Slade and Francis E. Davis.¹ Sarah died on July 4, 1944 at age 62.² She was buried in Slade-Boone Cemetery, Okahola, Lamar County, Mississippi.²

     Ebenezer Slade was known as Ebb. He was born on November 12, 1883 in Mississippi.¹ He was the son of Franklin E. Slade and Francis E. Davis.²
     Ebenezer married Dora Slade, daughter of Daniel S. Slade and Sarah Frances Weldy, on April 14, 1907 in Lamar County, Mississippi.³ Ebenezer Slade was registered in the draft for World War I on September 12, 1918 in Purvis, Lamar County, Mississippi.¹ Ebenezer died on March 23, 1954 at age 70⁴ and was buried in Boone Cemetery, Lamar County, Mississippi.⁴

     Floyd Houston Slade was born on August 27, 1895 in Okahola, Lamar County, Mississippi.^1,2 He was the son of Franklin E. Slade and Francis E. Davis.³ Floyd Houston Slade was registered in the draft for World War I on June 5, 1917 in Jones County, Mississippi.¹
     Floyd married Susie W. [?]⁴ Floyd died on January 1, 1981 in Hattiesburg, Forrest County, Mississippi, at age 85.^5,2 He was buried in Highland Cemetery, Hattiesburg, Forrest County, Mississippi.²

     Mary Loucinda Hill was known as Mollie. She was born in August, 1871 in Mississippi [her tombstone has b 1878].¹
     Mary married Prentiss Ira Slade, son of Franklin E. Slade and Francis E. Davis, in 1897 in Mississippi.¹ Mary died on April 15, 1960 at age 88.² She was buried in Sunset Hills Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Rome, Floyd County, Georgia.³

     Grace Lillian Slade was born in November, 1898 in Marion County, Mississippi.¹ She was the daughter of Prentiss Ira Slade and Mary Loucinda Hill.¹ Grace died on March 28, 1985 at age 86.² She was buried in Sunset Hills Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Rome, Floyd County, Georgia.³

     Dora married Ebenezer Slade, son of Franklin E. Slade and Francis E. Davis, on April 14, 1907 in Lamar County, Mississippi.¹ Dora died in October, 1967 at age 77² and was buried in Boone Cemetery, Lamar County, Mississippi.²

     Octavia Slade was born on September 16, 1908 in Lamar County, Mississippi.^1,2 She was the daughter of Ebenezer Slade and Dora Slade.¹
     Octavia married Lawrence H. Hession.^3,2 Octavia died on November 17, 1981 at age 73² and was buried in Boone Cemetery, Lamar County, Mississippi.²

     Mary Zuba Slade went by Sis.¹ She was born on July 1, 1910 in Lamar County, Mississippi.^2,1 She was the daughter of Ebenezer Slade and Dora Slade.² Mary died on December 9, 2003 at age 93.¹ She was buried in Boone Cemetery, Lamar County, Mississippi.³
