James Lawrence Slade

(8 July 1924 - 22 December 1977)
     James Lawrence Slade was born on July 8, 1924 in Lamar County, Mississippi.1,2 He was the son of Daniel Quitman Slade and Missouri Annette Slade. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II on a mine sweeper off the coast of Japan. In civilian life he was a brick mason, as was his father and brothers.2
     James married Bernice Marie Merritt.3 James died on December 22, 1977 at age 534 and was buried in Oak Hill Cemetery, Pearl River County, Mississippi.4

     James Maxwell Slade was born on January 18, 1918 in Pearl River County, Mississippi.1 He was the son of James Washington Slade and Maude Magdalene Dickson.
     James married Dorothy Wright in Lauderdale County, Mississippi.2
     James married second Norma Jean Lawrence on February 2, 1948 in Alcorn County, Mississippi.2 James died on April 18, 1996 in Lacombe, St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana, at age 78.3
