     Leonard Lafayette Slade was born in 1871 in Marion County, Mississippi.^1,2 He was the son of Samuel S. Slade and Arretta Davis.
     Leonard married Sally Slade on June 24, 1897 in Mississippi.¹ Leonard Lafayette Slade was living in May, 1926 in Hattiesburg, Forrest County, Mississippi; when he attended his father's funeral.³ Leonard died on September 26, 1949.¹ He was buried in Oak Grove Cemetery, Lamar County, Mississippi.¹

     Leonard Lavelle Slade Sr. was born on February 21, 1924 in Lamar County, Mississippi.¹ He was the son of James Washington Slade and Maude Magdalene Dickson.
     Leonard married Mabel Ann Geeck on February 1, 1946 in New Orleans, Louisiana.² She was the daughter of Charles and Annie Flattman Geeck of New Orleans. Leonard died on May 24, 2007 in Purvis, Lamar County, Mississippi, at age 83 last address of record.³

     Leslie F. Slade was born on December 17, 1912 in Purvis, Lamar County, Mississippi.¹ He was the son of George Willis Slade and Missouri E. Slade.
     Leslie married Lena Mae Weeks.² Leslie died on March 4, 1940 in St. Charles Parish, Louisiana, at age 27.³ He was buried in Cedarlawn Cemetery, Jackson, Hinds County, Mississippi.¹

     Lessie Slade was born on March 1, 1913 in Lamar County, Mississippi.¹ She was the daughter of John Wyatt Slade and Mary Jane Davis.¹ Lessie Slade was living in 1933 in Purvis, Lamar County, Mississippi.²
     Lessie married Willis Lee Gamble on August 19, 1939 in Mississippi.¹ Lessie died on August 19, 1939 at age 26.¹ Lessie died on February 12, 1982 at age 68.³

     Lester Franklin Slade was born on June 6, 1942 in Mississippi.¹ He was the son of James Maxwell Slade and Dorothy Wright.¹
     Lester married first Seretha W. Sullivan.²
     Lester married second Edna Lou Weaver.³ Lester died on June 12, 1973 at age 31.² He was buried in Philadelphia, Mississippi.²

     Lettie Elberta Slade was born on March 19, 1898 in Marion County, Mississippi.¹ She was the daughter of Joseph Thomas Slade and Eliza Davis.
     Lettie married Andrew Buckalew.²
     Lettie married second Mr. [?] Dearman.² Lettie died on June 11, 1973 in Mobile, Mobile County, Alabama, at age 75² and was buried in Slade Cemetery on Deavers Road, Lamar County, Mississippi.²

     Levena Slade was born on July 24, 1871.¹ She was the daughter of Benjamin Slade and Sarah Ann Anderson.
     Levena married J. West Brown on January 5, 1891.¹ Levena died on March 24, 1936 at age 64.¹

     Linda Carol Slade was born on August 10, 1956 in Meridian, Lauderdale County, Mississippi.^1,2 She was the daughter of Oscar Elmer Slade Jr. and Carol Knight. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Mississippi in 1978. At Ole Miss she majored in political science and journalism and was an officer of Delta Delta Delta sorority. In 1981, she graduated from the Ole Miss Law School, where she was a member of the Moot Court board and the Phi Alpha Delta legal fraternity. During college, she worked as a part-time journalist for the Meridian Star.

Ms. Slade worked as a staff attorney with the Mississippi state senate and was a legislative assistant for U.S. Congressman Trent Lott in Washington, D.C. She then begame Sen. Thad Cochran's senior legislative assistant until 1989, when she became Congressional liaison and staff counsel for NASA at the Stennis Space Center.

In 2000, she was awarded the Exceptional Service Medal, one of NASA's most prestigious awards for exemplary service, as well as various special act and service awards every year from 1999-2004.

Ms. Slade was active as an alumnae of Ole Miss, and was a past president of the Washington, D.C., chapter of the Alumni Association. She enjoyed reading, science, politics, traveling with her parents and the activities of her nieces, nephew and goddaughter. She was a lifelong member of Central United Methodist Church.² Linda died on February 17, 2005 at age 48.¹ She was buried in Magnolia Cemetery, Lauderdale County, Mississippi.² Her obituary read as follows:

MERIDIAN - Services for Linda Carol Slade, 48, of Diamondhead, who died Thursday, Feb. 17, 2005, at Jeff Anderson Regional Hospital, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Central United Methodist Church.

Ms. Slade was a NASA attorney. She was born in Meridian in 1956, and was educated in the Meridian school system, graduating with highest honors from Meridian High School in 1974. She attended Meridian Junior College and graduated magna cum laude from the University of Mississippi in 1978. She is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. O.E. "Buddy" Slade Jr. of Meridian; one sister, Susan Slade Beckham and her husband, Glenn, of Greenwood; one brother, Steven D. Slade and his wife, Shelby, of Meridian; three nieces, Allison Beckham and Aubrey Beckham, both of Greenwood, and Sarah Slade of Meridian; one nephew, John Slade of Meridian; a goddaughter, Sydney Barrett of Tyler, Texas; and two uncles, Dempsey G. Knight Jr. of Jackson and Charles E. Knight and his wife, Charla, of Poplarville.

The Rev. Jimmy Harrison and the Very Rev. M.L. Agnew will officiate at the services.

Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Dr. Jim Andrews, Len Shannon, David Scott, the Rev. David Johnson, Randy Robinson, Rex Buffington and Ken Humah.

Visitation will be from 5 until 8 this evening and from 1 p.m. until the time of the services Saturday at the church.

     Lobelia Slade was born on June 18, 1896 in Perry County, Mississippi.² She was the daughter of William Franklin Slade and Sarah Caroline Davis.
     Lobelia married Jack Downs circa 1918 in Mississippi.³

     Lois Slade was born on June 1, 1916 in Lamar County, Mississippi.¹ She was the daughter of Dedo Slade and Laura Lee Elliott.¹
     Lois married Floyd Melvin Carter in Bay Springs, Jasper County, Mississippi.² Their children were Floyd Melvin, Jr, Gary Wayne, and Larry Randall Carter.³ Lois was widowed when her husband, Floyd, died on March 19, 2002 at age 87.⁴ Lois died on April 16, 2005 at age 88.⁵ She was buried in Highland Cemetery, Hattiesburg, Forrest County, Mississippi.⁵

     Lois Slade was born on March 26, 1907 in Mississippi.^1,2 She was the daughter of James Volney Slade and Alma Slade.¹ Lois died on December 14, 1927 at age 20.²

     Lonia Slade was born on September 22, 1883 in Mississippi.¹ She was the daughter of William Franklin Slade and Sarah Caroline Davis.
     Lonia married William Moody Hatten circa 1913.² Lonia died on February 1, 1952 at age 68.³ She was buried in Dixie Baptist Church Cemetery, Forrest County, Mississippi.³

     Lona May Slade was born circa 1904 in Lamar County, Mississippi.¹ She was the daughter of Nathaniel Evander Slade and Mary Francis Lott.
     Lona married first Clyde Townsend.²
     Lona married Jessie J. Kilpatrick.² Lona May Slade was living in September, 1946 in Gulfport, Harrison County, Mississippi; at the time of her father's death. Her married name was Kilpatrick.³

     Lonnie Lee Slade was born on January 25, 1910 in Lamar County, Mississippi.^1,2 He was the son of William Adolph Slade and Sallie Anderson.
     Lonnie married Lola Bond on July 3, 1944.³ Lonnie died on October 13, 1984 in Biloxi, Harrison County, Mississippi, at age 74.⁴ He was buried in Tyner Cemetery at Clear Branch Church, Lamar County, Mississippi.⁵

     Lora Olivia Slade was born on March 19, 1901 in Lamar County, Mississippi.^1,2 She was the daughter of Leonard Lafayette Slade and Sally Slade.
     Lora married first Merl M. Prosser on June 3, 1917.³
     Lora married second Mr. Brown circa 1919.¹ Lora died on June 4, 1947 at age 46¹ and was buried in Oak Grove Cemetery, Lamar County, Mississippi.³

     Lottie Mae Slade was born on February 19, 1928 in Mississippi.¹ She was the daughter of Leonard E. Slade and Dossie M. Sosebee.¹
     Lottie married Robert Schafhirt.² Lottie died on May 6, 2008 in Gulfport, Harrison County, Mississippi, at age 80.³

     Louis L. Slade was born on February 5, 1915 in Lamar County, Mississippi.^1,2 He was the son of William Adolph Slade and Sallie Anderson.
     Louis married Alice O'Neal.³ Louis died on February 22, 1999 at age 84.²

     Louise Kathryn Slade was born on September 14, 1908 in Pearl River County, Mississippi.^1,2 She was the daughter of Warren Rembert Slade and Maud L. Williams.¹
     Louise married George Oliver Davis circa 1926.
     Louise married second Earl Eugene Skinner Sr. circa 1962.² Louise died on April 3, 1993 at age 84.² She was buried in Poplarville Cemetery, Pearl River County, Mississippi.²

     Lutisha Slade was born on July 24, 1852 in Mississippi.² She was the daughter of Daniel Slade and Sarah Baxter.
     Lutisha married John B. Brown on October 30, 1873 in Marion County, Mississippi.³ Lutisha died on June 25, 1929 at age 76⁴ and was buried in Brown Cemetery, Forrest County, Mississippi.¹

     Loyd Aderm Slade was born on October 31, 1909 in Lamar County, Mississippi.¹ He was the son of Walter James Slade and Rhoda Russell. Loyd died on November 28, 1910 at age 1.²
