David married Billie L. Dickson, daughter of Les Dickson and Eva Stringer, on April 28, 1946 in Las Vegas, Clark County, Nevada. David Lauren Slade Jr. resided in Orange, California, in 2005.3 David died on September 1, 2014 in Linda Loma, Mendocino County, California, at age 912 and was buried in Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside County, California.2 His obituary read as follows:
DAVID LAUREN SLADE, 91, moved on from the VA Loma Linda Hospital to be with Jesus Christ his Lord and Savior on Monday, September 1, 2014. He was born on January 26, 1923 in Wichita, KS to David and Ella Slade. In 1946 he married Billie L. Dickson and enjoyed a 60 year marriage. Together they raised four children: Stephen, Stanley, Sharrie, and Shauna. David was a U.S. Navy pilot for 25 years and retired as a Lieutenant Commander. He served in WWII and fought in Korea and received several medals including the Navy Commendation Medal with the Combat "V" for valor, and the Air Medal. David is survived by his four children, and their families and his caretaker/wife Mary Jane Rubino, and her two daughters and their families. Surviving brother Norman Slade resides in Kansas. Funeral services will be held at Riverside National Cemetery on September 22, at 1:30 pm. All who loved David are welcome to attend his memorial. David and Billie also loved and leave behind many grandchildren and great grandchildren as a legacy of God's blessings in their lives. Both David and Billie would want all to know this Bible verse: "For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain" (Philippians 1:21). We thank our parents for their love towards us and most importantly their love of God.

Dennis Frederick Harlow was born January 1, 1949, in Richmond, VA. He went to his eternal rest on October 6, 2016 at Hanover Medical Center after a lengthy illness. Dennis was predeceased by his parents, Curtis and Kathleen Harlow, and his sister, Kathleen Drake. He is survived by a sister, Patricia Armstrong (Rich), and brothers, Anthony Harlow, Michael Harlow, Stephen Harlow (Terri), Timothy Harlow (Colleen), Thomas Harlow (Connie), Patrick Harlow, and Vincent Harlow (Janet). He is also survived by several cousins including David Duke (Elsie), and a number of nieces and nephews. Jackie Capehart, a close friend of many years, also survives. Dennis was happiest when working and spent 40 years working at Southern Materials Gravel Company, which later was sold to other gravel companies. The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 12, from 1-2 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, VA 23231. Dennis Frederick Harlow was born January 1, 1949, in Richmond, VA. He went to his eternal rest on October 6, 2016 at Hanover Medical Center after a lengthy illness. Dennis was predeceased by his parents, Curtis and Kathleen Harlow, and his sister, Kathleen Drake. He is survived by a sister, Patricia Armstrong (Rich), and brothers, Anthony Harlow, Michael Harlow, Stephen Harlow (Terri), Timothy Harlow (Colleen), Thomas Harlow (Connie), Patrick Harlow, and Vincent Harlow (Janet). He is also survived by several cousins including David Duke (Elsie), and a number of nieces and nephews. Jackie Capehart, a close friend of many years, also survives. Dennis was happiest when working and spent 40 years working at Southern Materials Gravel Company, which later was sold to other gravel companies. The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 12, from 1-2 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, VA 23231. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, October 12 at 3 p.m. at Washington Memorial Park, Sandston, VA.
